ava did her daily morning antics before stepping outside into the crisp morning air. expecting to see george, she was disappointed. nobody was there. she stood in front of their houses, confused for a few minutes before she saw george step out of his house. her face lit up. once he came down to her, she pulled him in for a hug. he held her very gently, waiting for her to pull away. once she pulled away, they began to walk.

"where were you yesterday?" she asked in a calm voice.

"i had shit to do." he bluffed in response, bringing out his morning cigarette.

her lips formed a pout.

"o-oh. well you should've told me at lunch! then i could've hung out with pattie." she whined out teasingly.

he huffed.

"is she actually nice to you?" he questioned skeptically.

she nodded her head quickly.

"super nice! she said that you were cute. that she wanted to get to know you, too." she proclaimed.

he looked impressed.

"that's not half bad." he remarked, proud of himself.

"say, how do you figure walking home with her together today?" she offered, raising a brow.

he shrugged.

"why the hell not. but if she's annoying, you'll never hear the end of it." he warned.

she giggled.

"she's exactly like me!" she defended.

he rolled his eyes playfully, a small grin on his face.

"oh, well i'd better run then." he joked.

she nudged him with a giggle. ava didn't notice, but that was the first time she ever saw him smile.

ava walked to the library, as she did everyday. she pulled out a book from her bag and continued where she left off.

"ava!" a voice called out, which earned shushes from multiple people.

she looked up, to see paul mccartney.
