Kristina's PoV
It's Sunday morning and the café is closed as normal for restock and cleaning. Even though I told Scarlet to stay home she insisted that she helps me. However, she has been acting strange all day. I haven't seen her smile once this entire day.
"Are you alright Scarlet?" She didn't seem to hear me as she continues to stare out the window she is cleaning. Feeling annoyed from being ignored I put down the cloth I was holding and march over to her. I spin her around and clutch her shoulders gaining her attention.
"That got your attention." She seems to stumble over her words as guilt flashes over her face.
"I-I am so sorry Sage, I didn't hear you speaking."
"What's wrong, come on let's sit and talk about it." She was hesitant, but she sat at a near table and I quickly made myself a cup of coffee and her usual drink. She wraps her hands around her cup and looks solemnly looks out the window again.
"Spill it, Scarlet, what's got you in the dumps." She begins to sigh, her eyes darting around the room trying to find the right words to say.
"You see last night; my brother, Axel, was put into the hospital." My body tenses as she says this.
"Do you know what happened to him?" She looks back at me with a large smile, I guess she's thankful that I take interest in her brother's health. I do since it's her but not just that, it could be him from last night.
"He said he got jumped by three men and a woman came and took them out saving him. Accept the woman gave him a nasty blow to the face." I put on a sympathy mask while on the inside I just wanted to apologize and scold myself for losing my control with the punch. I can't believe that out of everyone in the world she had to be related to him. Sighing I stood up and then began to head towards the door not before picking up my coat and phone. When Scarlet didn't move I look over my shoulder at her as she stares at me confused.
"Aren't you coming?"
"W-Where are we going?" I sigh once more before pulling out my phone and pressing speed dial.
"Isn't it obvious, we're going to see your brother. I want to know who is responsible for making you upset. Her smile quickly came back as she jumped up and grabs her things running towards me.
"T-Thank you, Sage. You don't need to come, really."
"No problem, we finished at the café early anyways so might as well accompany you. I'm going to call a friend to get us a lift." She ran on ahead outside while I wait for Eric to pick up the call.
"Sage, two days in a row. I must be a really popular person or you're in trouble again."
"Depending on what's said it could be the last one. He's awake and he remembers me, I'm going to head over their now to check on him and see what he knows and remembers. I'm calling to see if you could give us a lift since my motorbike can't take passengers."
"Wait how do you know he's awake and which hospital he's in. I know that you're good and deducing some stuff but that is merely impossible!"
"Well, fortune sees it that I know since his sister happens to be an employee. She's told me about what happened, and it can't be a coincidence."
"The why do you need me? Can't you get a taxi..."
"You know why I need you, Eric, I need you to scan the area and video footage. Like I said this can't be a coincidence." Silence is all I heard on the other line before he finally spoke up.
"I'll be there in five, what happens if he recognizes it's you?" I walk outside to meet Scarlet's overjoyed face starring into the sky.
"You know yourself what has to be done. I'll see you when you get here." Thankfully Scarlet didn't hear a single word that had been said which I was thankful for. Five minutes later as promised, Eric pulls up, I get into the passenger side while Scarlet sits in the back. Seems that Eric managed to clean the blood of the seats.
