Kristina's PoV

There is no point sugar coating it. After the incident and not able to get rid of the witnesses the only option left is to move and start over. I will have to close the café and everything I have worked on for the past years has gone down the drain within 2 nights. I know Scarlet won't take this well but that's what happens when you let people get too close.

"W-What, no you can't go!" Scarlet stood abruptly which surprised me and Eric. I wouldn't have thought she would have reacted like this.

"Look, Scarlet, this building is getting old and small. I've been given the option to move to a bigger place. However, it requires moving to a new country. I was going to tell yo-"

"The day before you left as to not hurt my feelings. I thought you might say that. They always do." She said the last part quietly hoping we didn't hear but we did. Eric was about to say something, but I quickly kicked him in the leg to shut him up.

"Scarlet sit down and listen alright. I can't stay here. I'm not good at staying in one spot." Taking a breath, she sits down and takes a sip of her coffee.

"You know you're not good at lying." I was taken back when she said this. Usually, I can fool anyone but with Scarlet, it's different. The mood in the room seemed to shift then all at once it seemed to return to normal.

"Alright then!" Her cherry voice jumped back, and her smile returns to her face as she stares at me. Taking another drink, she places the cup on the table empty and claps her hands together.

"If there is no way for me to stop you from going. At least, let me hold a goodbye party."

"I've just said I don't do well with socializing Sc-"

"I know but it won't be a big party. It'll be more of a goodbye meet up. Just you, me, Eric and he can bring a friend and Axel." This time I was about to respond but Eric kicks me in the stomach. It didn't faze me much, but I got the hint to shut up.

"We will be glad to come if you give us the time and address I'll be sure we can make it. Oh, and I'll bring my boyfriend it'll be a nice to introduce him to everyone." Scarlet jumps up clapping her hands together.

"Perfect we can have the party tomorrow then at my place! Axel said he is going shopping. Won't hurt to buy a few more things."

"Actually, I nee-"

"No, you don't Sage all plans will be cancelled, and I'll sort everything out. You will enjoy your final day here with your friends." I roll my eyes and punch Eric on the arm, he released a small 'ouch' as he rubs the spot I hit him.

"Fine, fine. I'll go to your party, but this won't change my mind." Eric shook his head, I knew this was his plan and Scarlet's. Scarlet looks at the clock on the wall and stands before bowing her head.

"Well, I'll better be off to start planning and getting the house ready." After raising her head, she picked up her bag that she had placed down and rushed out of the door and out of the café.

"She took that well." Eric places down his cup and I groan as I roll my eyes. Standing I take the cups into the kitchen wanting to get a slice of cake to help with the stress.

"You weren't planning on telling her at all were you?" I ignored his question because he already knew the answer. I pulled out a plate and a knife and placed them on the counter before turning to the fridge. The only cake left is the velvet cake which I have saved for special occasions. Bring the cake plate to the side I pick up the knife and cut a large slice knowing I will need it.

"Do you really think this is a good idea?"

"Look I'll exercise the weight off its n-"

"I'm not talking about the cake... I'm talking about leaving." I didn't feel like talking anymore as I move the cake slice onto the plate and go back to the fridge to put the cake back before it goes warm.

"I know I said that I want to keep you safe and that you should do what you can to stay hidden, but we are not living this life. I don't want you to be constantly moving. Losing friends, changing your name every time something slips." I go back to the cakes clenching my fist as I look down at the delicious sin in front of me.

"Is it because you couldn't k-" Without a second thought I had picked up the knife that I used to cut the cake and threw it behind me. I turned in a swift movement and faced Eric. His face unfazed by this gesture as I began storming up to him.

"Don't mention that alright. Don't. You. Dare." The knife had landed a centimetre from his left cheek the frosting of the cake scrapping onto his face.

"Isn't that why you called me here? To talk about your failure and wanting to deal with it?"

"No, I'm done talking Eric. I'm sorry but it's not helping. I need to move and clear my head and distance myself." I grab the hilt of the knife and pull it out of the wall. Turning calmly back to the counter I grab a cloth and wipe the knife clean before putting it away not trusting myself.

"We've been through this Sage. Moving around is more dangerous and not good for your health. You are a normal citizen. If someone looks at your record and sees that you're constantly moving questions get asked." He brings a finger to his cheek wiping off the cream of his cheek and popping it in his mouth.

"I've made up my mind alright Eric. I'm... I'm sorry but I need to do this. You might know it's good for my health... but it's not good for me." He releases a sigh and pinches the bridge of his nose thinking it through. He raises his hands in the air before letting them flop aimlessly at his sides.

"Fine... I'll help you move. You'll need someone to keep tabs on you," Then he points a finger at me with a stern look.

"But I will only agree if you attend this party as promised. I know you were planning on ditching and moving." I roll my eyes and groan out loud. He's been with me too much, he knew my plan.

"Deal?" I look at his face as he gives me a serious look. Giving up I nod and walk up to him and give him a hug.

"Fine I'll go but there is no way I'm staying alright." He hugs back and nods with a clear sign of solemnness.

"Oh, and I'm sorry about the knife. I'm just frustrated."

"It's fine. I know you'd never cut me anyway. That would be a day. Kristina finally killing her only friend." We both share a laugh and I walk back over to the fridge pulling out the cake.

"Cake?" He looks at his watch before smiling softly to himself.

"One slice, I'm meeting with Sam tonight, anniversary dinner." I cut him a slice and place it on a plate before we made our way to the living room. We continue to talk and make plans about the move, but one thing kept repeating in my head. That would be the day... killing...Eric.
