In the summer time
"What do you mean summer school?" Heather yelled at her parents.
"Your academics will improve. They have all sorts of activities. " Her mother calmly answered.
"You're going anyway. Forms are filled and a place is reserved for you." Heathers father added.
Mr and Mrs Langstorm. Or as others could call them, Kathy and Josh were Heathers parents. They were also important people in the Night Blood Pack. Josh was unemployed and Kathy was a professor at Blackthorn University.
Heather went up to her room, upset with her parents for ruining her summer vacation. She threw herself on her dull blue and grey bed and went on her phone.
"Of course I'd have zero messages." She said to herself.
"Excuse me, but no one told you to come here. There's another pack meeting now. " Stella, Heathers older sister said, speaking through a small opening by Heather's room door.
Heather sighed and got up. Her parents drove to a mansion. It was large, almost in the shape of a large rectangle. The clay of the house was grayish-blue and the front yard was massive. They even managed to fit a pond and three expensive looking cars there.
Heather got out the car and miserably walked into the mansion.
"Morning Sarah. Morning Aaron. "Good morning June." She greeted as she entered a grand hall. Their were about 10 people in the massive hall. Heather got a weird feeling. A shiver running down her spine and up again. It was an odd feeling. It felt as if a ghost passed through her multiple times.
A man, about middle-aged walked in the front as everyone else gathered around him.
"Evening everyone. I have informed you all before that their were innocent people being killed. Well I stand corrected, they were all werewolves. Brothers from another alpha." He said, with a chuckle. No one else in the room found him amusing. This man was the alpha of the Night Blood pack. Damian was his name. Very peculiar man.
He cleared his throat, "Yes, well five more werewolves were found last night. Be careful of the vampires. Remember no contact and you should be safe." He looked at Heather. She was confused as to why he looked at her.
When Heather got home she packed her bag with books, her parents bought her for summer school. She was to leave in two days.
"So how does this work. This summer school thing?" Stella asked as she sat on Heather's bed.
"Its like normal school during the week. Only I stay there and come home on weekends."
"Cool." Stella said, looking down on the pillow, sad.
"Hey, you okay?" The happy and cheerful atmosphere had suddenly turned cold and depressing.
"Oh. Yeah... I mean. I'm a half blood, arent I? I see the way the pack looks at me." Stella said.
"There's no way you're a half blood. Maybe its the same as pubity. Maybe your pimples will come."
"Heather please tell me you know what I'm talking about. 'Cause it's not funny."
"You will get your werewolf abilities soon, you're gonna look back and you're gonna have a good laugh." Heather stretched her hand to rub Stella's shoulder.
"I haven't found my wolf mate. I can't transform and I'm five years older than you. I'm not a late boomer. I'm a half blood." Stella said, pushing Heather's hand off her shoulder.
Heather kept herself calm and continued packing further.

Two days later, Heather got dropped off at summer school. "Enjoy it!" Stella screamed out the car window as Heather's parents drove away.Heather stood in the front side, staring at the old and brown building that looked like it survived a nuclear war. Heather tilted her head to the side and read the sign, that was hanging from a piece of a broken chain.
"The schools name is really Young People Summer Time School? That makes no sense." Heather said, slowly walking inside the old building.
Heather could feel something was not right. "Vampires." She thought. This was a familiar feeling for her. As she stood still and looked around, he appeared, standing there.
"Dylan Guard. What are you doing here?" Heather asked strictly, standing confidently.
"Are you lost? It's called summer school for a reason. What should I say? I'm here to learn how to paint toilets?" He answered with an attractive smirk.
"I wouldn't be surprised. Looks like painting toilets would actually suit you. Is that your future career? Dylan Guard. You never told me vampires can see the future."
"We can. Which is why I know," He bent to Heathers short height, "You're gonna turn around and knock into a student with a stack of books." He whispered in her ear.
Heather was hesitant but she turned around. Nothing. The place was empty. When Heather turned back to Dylan, he was gone.
"Vampires really know how to get on my nerves. They think they're amusing." Heather said to herself, rolling her eyes.
"Awww, you think I'm amusing. I like you." Dylan answered from behind her again. Heather turned around. Dylan was standing very closely to her.
"Your hearts beating fast." He said. They were both staring at eachother, gazing into their souls. The first moment they both felt a connection. Like a fire that was lit in their eyes. Dylan realised what was happening and he moved backward, also breaking eye contact with Heather.
"Attention all, please make your way to the back of the school." Said a female voice on the intercom.
Heather walked slowly down the foyer, Dylan was following her. The faster she walked, the faster he walked. Eventually Heather started jogging. Dylan ran in front of her. Heather then too ran. They were now racing to the back of the school.
Heather pushed the doors open, laughing. Everyone was already there. The students watched them. Heather tidied her dress, hitting off the imaginary dust on her black dress. They quickly made their way to the crowd.
"For the record, it was a race between vampires and werewolves. Since I opened the door first, I'm faster." Heather whispered.
"I wasn't even running at my vampire speed. Surely you can't be that fast." He smiled. Heather looked away. Obviously she wasn't intrigued by his foolishness.
The school councillor spoke about the academics and the activities. Heather walked into the school hall after the meeting. There were stalls everywhere with signs on the front of the table.
"He said pick one sport, one cultural activity and a subject you'd like to improve on and, what? Math is compulsory?" Heather said reading from a page. She didn't look up once. She knocked into someone tall. It was him again.
"Dylan Guard watch where you are walking." Heather looked at him, upset.
"No need to get hysterical. I'm standing in a line. You should watch your step. I'm starting to think you like me." Dylan smiled at her innocently and walked to the front, as the line was moving.
Heather looked at him in confusion again and walked away. "I don't like him. He's dead. Kinda. I can't like him. I've only known him for like three years." She thought to herself.
Heather stood at a empty stall with the sign 'Softball'. She then moved away. 'Tennis' was the name that attracted her most.
"Hi, I'm here to sign up." Heather said. The woman nodded bitterly and slid a page to Heather
As Heather was done signing her name on the list, she had a strange feeling. Not the one she gets from Dylan, there was another vampire there. She looked around, smelling the air (undetected by the surrounding students).
Dylan came in the hall with a girl in his arms. She was crying and full of blood on her left side. Someone passed behind Heather quickly and accidentally knocked her arm. She froze when she had a shiver down her spine. It was another vampire.
