Heather sat alone in her dorm room, while Dylan took June to Damian.
"Do I trust him?" She asked herself as she stared out of the window. She saw Dylan walking in the school grounds.
Heather got up immediately to meet with him at the entrance. She ran as fast as her legs could take her.
She slipped to the back just as she reached the entrance, but Dylan caught her in his arms.
"My knight and shinning Guard." She said as he still kept her tight.
"You can't go running like that. I can't live without you." Dylan looked at her with sad eyes.
"Sorry, what did Damian say?" She asked as she freed herself from Dylan's protective grip.
"He took her, left a brutal scar in her face and told me to stay away from you and to keep my mouth shut." Dylan gently rubbed Heather's hair.
"Are you going to keep your mouth shut or are you gonna tell me everything?" She asked. The sun was setting into the crimson sky. The scenery was absolutely beautiful.
"I have to tell you everything. We can sit at the bleachers or wherever you want."
"Yeah, no definitely." She agreed with him.
They walked slowly to the pavilion. Heather wanted to keep Dylan's hand, but he kept moving it away.
They sat right on top on the wooden seats. The sky was now filled with stars and a shiny crescent moon could be seen from a distance.
"Damian snuck into my room, while I was reading one night. He gave me a deal. I speak with this girl and get info from her in exchange to knowing information about my biological parents." He explained, looking at the moon.
"You're an orphan? I never knew." Heather said. She reached out her hand to touch Dylan's hand but he dodged it.
"Yes. Jerome, the one that turned me took me in. He needed my help to finding his descendents. He knew I had an obsession with breaking into the systems." Dylan looked at Heather with sad eyes.
"Wow, the Jerome changed you? I thought he had such a hard shell." Heather had a hopeful smile on her face.
"Well, yes. He's different with us. Damian lied to me. So I'm telling you his plan."
Heather repositioned herself to face Dylan. Her smile shown through the night as she stared at Dylan.
"Yes please. Spill some tea." She said.
"Damian wanted this thing called the Night Owl. It's supposed to-" Heather interrupted Dylan.
"I know everything about the Night Owl. It's a statue that's supposed to control both vampires and werewolves. Did I leave anything out?"
"No interrupting," he smiled. "He wanted to find the thing to control everyone. Only hybrids can use the Owl. He had maps and tools to help find the location."
"Where did he find the maps and tools?"
"Well, it's more like a prophecy, but he stole it from a werewolf, Robert's grave."
Heather's eyes glowed up like a glow stick. "The Robert? You know that the only reason why vampires and werewolves hate eachother is because of this couple, Robert and Synthia." She explained out of excitement.
"Yes, I know. No more interrupting. So, the last day of school, he told me to do something to capture your attention. He found out by your father that you were going to summer school."
"So was his mark an accident or what?" Heather asked.
"I think it was an accident but he took advantage of it. His mark was so intense that it caused you to shift for the first time."
"So after all this, you still love me right?" Heather's excited smile faded as she hoped for a good answer.
"Of course. The moment I started speaking with you, my heart fluttered. I was a douche." He said. Dylan took Heather's hand and kissed it.
"So, you've been avoiding my hand all day, and now you decide to touch it. But if you go behind my back ever again, I'll drive a stake through your heart." She said.
"Sorry, okay. But I mean it. If any harm ever came to you, my first instinct would be to protect you." He said.
The moment was just right. The beautiful starry sky, a moon shining on Heather and Dylan and they were alone in the quiet night. Dylan's lust for blood was under control, because all his focus was on Heather.
They slowly leaned forward and locked their lips. They ended the evening with a passionate kiss. It was a phenomenal hot and cold moment.

Damian was sitting in his lavish, classy, red office, reading from an old, brown and yellow page. It was the prophecy.
The creature of the night, whom changes at the moon, shall be the answer, a key, a map to the cave, where the Night Owl rests, waiting for the hybrid to awake it's power."Heather found the lake. How on Earth am I going to get her to show me where it is." He murmered to himself. The frustration got the best of him. Damian ran his fingers through his hair.
"Perhaps I should get her on my side. I'll have to once again manipulate my way to get their trust."
"Or, you can use Dylan's and Heather's growing love." Jerome said as he entered the room.
"Jerome, what brings you here?"
"My vampire is in love with your werewolf. The sooner you get done with him, the sooner he can help me." Jerome explained.
Damian exploded in laughter, as Jerome stood still, very serious.
"Oh please, you've only known about your family for two years now. Surely, you can wait. You have an eternity." Damian stated.
"I no longer want to wait. Take my advice. After observing them not long ago, Dylan will do anything to protect her."
"He told her everything, didn't he? For the first time, since Synthia and Robert, two different species have fallen in love. Thank you for your advice Jerome." Damian smiled evily and watched as Jerome left the room.
Jerome stopped at the door and turned to Damian.
"I find it odd that they are in love, since they are eachothers weaknesses. That's why Robert and Synthia never had a happy ending." He walked out the room after stating his concerns.
"If I were to kidnap her and use her as bait, Dylan would feel the need to save her, and most likely she to save him. Jerome has a brain after all." He said to himself.
Love in this case, would be sacrificed. Dylan had completely fallen for Heather. If only Damian would understand that nothing should keep them apart.
