JAKES POV
I sit down in the waiting room seat. She has no family, and this happens. Why haven't I told her how she makes me feel. Does she feel the same way? I ask myself. I'm deep in thought when I hear someone say Mellie's name being called. I turn my head in the direction of who said her name. I see a guy in scrubs. I automatically get up and walk over to him. How is she? Is she ok? Is she awake? Can I see her? I question. I'm cut off by a hand being placed on my shoulder. Let's sit down and I'll tell you how she is. The guy says.
MELLIE'S POV
My eyes fly open and I'm met by brightly lighted all I can do is keep blinking so my eyes adjust. As my eyes adjust I look all over. Then it hits me. I'm in the hospital. As I try to get up the door opens stopping me. I see what appears to be the doctors hi I'm doctor Wilson. The guy says. He walks over to my bed. When he gets to the bed he asks What's your name? My name Mellie, today's Saturday, and the last thing I remember are being at the rodeo I repeat to the doctor. He chuckles. It seems your a pro at this. I'm gonna take your vitals, were still waiting for your tests to come back. We can take the C-collar off of you. To be honest I hadn't even noticed it being on. I tell the doctor. We're gonna keep you overnight for observation. The doctor says. As he was walking out.
JAKES POV
The doctor leads me over to where I was sitting. We both sit down. She's doing good, however, she has a concussion with what appears to be bleeding on the brain. However, she remembers everything up until the accident. We're just gonna keep her overnight for observation. You can go back and see her if you would like to go back. The doctor says. Yes please, I wanna see her. I say. As the doctor takes me back I wonder how much she'll remember. The doctor knocks on the door as he opens it. My eyes go straight to the small girl who I can't take my mind off of. Hey Jake. Mellies says. Mellie, you had me worried. I say.
MELLIE'S POV
As soon as Jake said that I couldn't help but smile at him. Doctor Wilson sat down next to me. You fell pretty hard and there's some bleeding on your Brain. But it's nothing too serious. The doctor says. Thank you doc. I say. With that doctor, Wilson leaves the room. I turn my head to Jake. Tell me what happened, please.
