"God, I hate him! Don't you know that, Max? I don't want to see his stupid face!" I say angrily, as my best friend, Max, drags me to my worst enemy's house. Mike Wheeler.
"Didn't you just tell me yesterday you like him?" She asks.
"But I hate him, yeah. It's true." I say.
"That's impossible." She opens the door to Mike's house. Walking in as I stay behind, crossing my arms and staring at her.
"Come on, Jennifer." She says, dragging my arm inside the house, shutting the door.
"I don't want to do this. I'm gonna give him glares of hate but glares of love, understand me?" I ask her as I follow her to the basement doors.
"Your such a diva." She rolls her eyes, opening the door. "Let's go." She points downstairs.
"I'm not moving." I grin.
"Shall I get Mike?" She asks me.
"He doesn't want me here so why bother?"
"He hates you too? Gosh, grow up you two!" She says, waking downstairs tiredly.
I decide to not be a child and follow her downstairs.
"Hey, Max! And....oh God." Dustin says happily, stopping as he sees me.
"Now you hate her?! Oh my lord!" Max says.
"I don't! It's just. Mike. He's not gonna be happy." Dustin frowns. "He's in the bathroom. As soon as he comes back and sees her, he's gonna be mad."
"Why?" Lucas asks. "I'm so confused."
"They apparently don't have a good history together," Max informs Lucas. "Also, where's Will?"
"At the dentist. He'll be back soon." Lucas says.
"Why is she here?" I hear behind me.
I cross my arms again, turning around.
"Why can't she be?" Max asks Mike.
"We hate each other. It's common sense." He says, pushing past me.
"She doesn't just hate you," Max says.
I look at her, hoping she doesn't reveal it.
Her eyes go wide after noticing what she said.
"What do you mean?" Mike asks, turning around confused.
"She hates more then you hate her!" Max says, trying to act like she never said it.
"No, what do you actually mean?" He asks.
"I really fucking like you, is that better, Wheeler?" I blurt out what I was saying in my head.
"The hell you mean?" He asks me. "We hate each other, you can't like me."
"But what if I do?" I ask him, walking closer.
"That's weird." He laughs nervously, looking at Max and Dustin and Lucas.
"Fine Mike," I say, walking to the stairs. "I guess I shouldn't like you then."
"Wait." He says, moving in front of me.
"Yes?" I ask him.
He looks at the ground thinking of what to say. "I don't have much time, Michael."
He looks from the floor to my eyes.
"I hate you." He says, putting his hands on my face and kissing me.
