(Max Steel) A not so hero

Bus incident

When Max had talked all the robots out school was made a half day and we all where told we could leave. We climbed onto the bus and I plopped down beside Kirby.

"Why don't you sit with me Raven?" Butch asked sweetly.

"I'm fine sitting with Kirby." I said as I looked away from him.

"Everything alright?" Kirby asked softly.

"I'm fine." I said softly.

The bus started to move and I let out a sigh as we made it to the bridge. I leaned back and slowly closed my eyes. I felt my eyes shot open when I heard an explosion and the bus started to move forward. The bus stopped moving and was pulled back. The front was torn off and I froze as Dread climbed onto the bus.

"Hello kiddies!" Dread said with a chuckle.

"What is he doing here?" I thought softly.

"After Max Steel, I guess."

"It's over. Come quietly and I'll allow your classmates to live."

"You've lost, Butch. You do remember these, don't you? Naught! What is this? You said you've found him!" Dread said angrily.

"I did, that is him. That's Max!" Naught yelled through his speaker.

"Did you say Max? That's Max! Right over there.
Max McGrath."

"Mcgrath? As in Jim and Molly McGrath, Former N-Tek agents, pioneers of turbo energy? How could you have been so blind, Naught? It's obvious!"

"Should we stop him?" Tinker asked softly.

"No.... we can't without showing who we are going to him."

"But Max is your friend."

"Yes you do look like your father. Oh little Max McGrath. Or should I say Max Steel?" Dread said softly.

Dread punched him through the bus and I let out a scream as he flew off the cliff.

"Max!" I yelled as I rushed to the side.

"Or not." Dread said as he turned to walk away.

"Dread! Would you care to step outside?" A voice said.

I looked up at saw Max Steel flying.

"By all means." He said as he jumped through the roof.

They soon started to fight and after awhile Kirby went to the driver seat.

"If Max can be a hero, so can I. I'm getting us out of here." Kirby said calmly.

"Don't kill us." I said as I stood beside him.

Soon the bus started going backwards and I turned to see Dread pulling us to him.

"Oh no! Hold on!" Kirby yelled.

I held onto Kirby's shoulder and he put the bus in reverse. I let out a sigh of relief when he hit Dread. I saw a plane land and I quickly climbed off the bus and walked over to Syd's side.

"It's over, Dread." Max Steel said as he walked towards him.

"It's not over! Don't you realize, Now I know who you are. Max McGrath."

"Is it true? Is that really you in there Max?" Syd asked as she walked up to him.

"Whoo! Now, that was one long schlep." A voice said.

"How?" Dread asked shocked.

I turned my head to see Max climb up the side of the cliff.

"Who am I supposed to be again?" Max Steel asked calmly.

"Don't move!" The agents yelled.

Dread let go and I watched a ship grab him.

"Max, I'm so glad you're okay. I was so worried about you." Syd said as she ran up to him.

"Oh, really? But uh, what about Butch?" Max asked softly.

"What about him?"

"Well, I thought you liked him now. I mean, he did save your life. That's what he says which is why I agreed to tutor him in french. I didn't tell you because he was embarrassed about it. But it's not like he's some superhero, Cuz trust me he's really not." Syd said as she sent him a smile.

"I think Kirby said my name." I said as I walked away.

"Ahh! I like hanging out with you, Max." Syd said as I saw Kirby get picked up.

"And I like hanging out with you. Like, really, really, really like it!" Max said softly.

I burst out laughing as I saw Max start dancing. I shook my head and smiled as we all got on the bus and made our way home. When I arrived home I felt anger boil up inside of me.

"How dare you!" I yelled as I slammed the door open.

Naught and Dread turned to look at me and I saw a frown on his face.

"You nearly killed my best friend! What where you thinking! I told you that Max Steel wasn't in my school!" I yelled as I glared at him.

"Watch your tongue." He growled.

"No I won'-"

I was cut off by a strong force knocking me to the ground. I quickly held my cheek and looked up to see Dread glaring down at me.

"I am your father and you will show me respect you ungrateful child! I brought you into this world and know I have no problem taking you out of it." He said as he walked out of the lab.

I held my cheek as I felt tears stream down my face.

"Stupid child." Naught said as he walked away.

I stood up and quickly rushed to my room and slammed the door shut. I slid down my door and let out a sob as I covered my face.

"Raven.... are you okay?"

"No.... I just..... I wish my mother was here." I said as I let out a sob.
