Chapter 17

Everyone was chatting when Maya came out of her room.
The sound of laughter.
How can she just tell everyone she remembers?
She can't.
How is she going to do it?
She steps out and goes sit between Riley and Farkle.

"This place actually brings back a lot of memories. You remember this is where we decided to date?" Lucas asked and Riley smiled.
"Yeah. You and Josh also decided on something," Riley said.
"Yeah we actually did. It's a pity you don't remember anything," Josh said.

Maya stood up and got herself ready to tell everyone.
Josh knows something is up and also knows she isn't herself.

"What is it Maya?" Josh asked.
"I remember," Maya said.
"Thank goodness," Riley said and gave Maya a hug.
"You don't look very happy," Josh said.
"Because for the first time in my life I wish that those three years were gone. That I could just forget about you and move on with my life like it was," Maya said.
"Where is this coming from?" Riley asked.
"I have no idea why she is..."
"How much of an idiot do you think I am?" Maya said and looked at Josh.
"You're not. But I don't know what your talking about," Josh said.
"You don't? And if I tell you I remember every single thing would you then?" Maya said.
"No."
"Our fight stupid," Maya said.
"What fight?" Riley asked.
"Me and Josh had a huge argument before my accident," Maya said.
"How long before?" Lucas asked.
"Two months before. When school started," Maya said.
"It wasn't a big deal," Josh said.
"Not?" Maya said and pulled out a letter from her back pocket.
"It's a suicide note. Tell me again it wasn't that bad," Maya said.
"What! Why did... What did you do?" Riley said.
"I'm done," Maya said and went back to her room.

"She said we should decide what we want to do about us or break all contact. The age difference was still too big for me so I didn't answer. But silence was for Maya also an answer," Josh said.
"What now Uncle Joshua?" Riley asked.
