What kind of life does PLHIV?
We always say life will be the same. Well,maybe yes because you are breathing but I am saying it is not the same as before.
Look at me. sometimes I felt to stop taking my ARV. Taking it every 7Am and 7PM daily changed the life am enjoying.
Sometimes, I need to rush eating after taking the ARV because I knew that later, I will have that stomach pain. Then there is that bitter taste. Seems all your food are not good on your taste buds.
Once I am hungry, it seems my eyes is bulging out, my head is paining me and i am about to vomit. I need to drink more water to avoid this side effects.
Thinking what will happen to my liver with all of this ARV day and night. Then the doctor asked or advised me to take Izoniasid for Pneumonia Prevention but since I am afraid for my liver, I decided not to take it but I continued taking my food supplements.
My throat has always that phlegm. You can hear that loud sounds once I cough. Sometimes I have the fear that Tuberculosis may appear.
There is always a fear. Fear of opportunistic infection that will affect my health.Fear that my liver will fail but I have no choice but to go on with my medication.
Lots of stories from other PLHIV when they stopped taking the ARV, some sickness ruin their lives so I do not like to experience that.
I decided to always swallow those two big tablets day and night and wait for the future consequence. Either to live or to die, it is better to live without Pneumonia or Tuberculosis that pinned me on my bed and stop all the daily activities I am doing.
