The first thing my son asked me to do is to have my own eating utensils. I was shocked to hear it from him but then I cannot blame him. Lack of education can judge us.  I just don't argue with him. I told him, well, it is okay. Maybe, it is better that I can live alone but he doesn't buy that.

I told him why not have a research since we have an unlimited wife at home or I encouraged him to accompany me to my doctor so my doctor will explain. Even my counselor advised me to bring all my children to the hub so he can explain HIV and AIDS to them. So the next check-up, my daughter, aged 20 accompanied me. My doctor explained to him that my sickness cannot be transmitted on the following ways:

- Sharing food or eating utensils

-hugging or kissing

- toilet seats or bathing

-sneezes  or cough

- insect bites

The virus will die a minute it expose to the air. It replicate so fast inside the body of a person. Our blood carries it on the different parts of our body then transmit through body fluids to somebody  through sex without condom, anal sex but not oral sex, breastfeeding, injection and blood transfusion.

If ever you see me in person, you can hug me without fear because I cannot transmit the virus to you.

Thorough research online and my doctor's explanation, my children relieved. In our home, we are working normally. My son once told me that, at first he thought of blaming me but then seeing me as so being positive facing this situation, he chose to respect and accept me.

I hope there will be a time that our parents will accept our PLHIV. We have nobody to support and care us but our family. Other parents, send their son or daughters away because they have the virus and it sadden me.

How about you, will you hug or talk to me if we meet in person?
