Chapter 3:Interview

(Olivia's POV)

The Next Day

"Hey beautiful", I hear James say softly. I open my eyes slightly and look to see James standing over me, "Hey, what time is it?", I ask as I sit up. James looks at my alarm clock, "6:00 A.M", he says. I push the covers off me and rub my eyes, sitting in my pajama shorts and tank top, "Okay, I'm going to get breakfast and head to the interview", I say tiredly as I get out of bed, stretching. James nods and heads downstairs, "I already made you breakfast", he says happily as he walks downstairs. I smile, "Thank you", I say softly as I get my clothes and head for the bathroom. I change in the bathroom and brush my bedhead hair, "Come and get it", I hear James from downstairs. I smile and shake my head as I head out of the bathroom, walking downstairs, "You didn't have too", I say as I get to the bottom. I look up and see balloons and presents everywhere, "You like it?", asks James as he comes up to me. I tilt my head and smile, "Yes but, why?", I ask as I sit at the table. James brings me my plate and sits next to me, "Because you got the agent job and to make up for taking a lot of days off work, I'm still sorry about that", he says sincerely. I put my hands on his cheeks, looking in his radiant eyes, "James Alan Chandler, there is nothing to be sorry about, you made a mistake, no one's perfect, your still that person I fell in love with at the coffee shop", I say with a smile. James smiles and kisses me on the lips, pulling away to smile at me, "I'm just glad your not mad at me, I know I have been mad at your many times and I'm sorry", he says. I smile at him, "It's okay, that's the past, enjoy the present", I say as i get up, throwing my bag over my shoulder. James gets up quickly and looks at me, "You didn't even eat your breakfast", he says. I laugh, "I would but, I have to go, I have to be at this interview by 7, I have a granola bar, that works for me", I say as I give him a peck on the lips, walking to the front door. I open the door when James gets in front of me, "Wait, I have a present for you", he says with a smile. I shake my head, "I can't accept it right now, I have to go, bye love you", I say quickly as I shut the door. I walk to my car, getting a call from my mom, "Yes?", I ask as I unlock my car, opening the front door. My mom laughs on the other line, "I just wanted to check on you, you seemed pretty busy last time I saw you, you had your hands full with Sophia, actually the last time I saw you was when you just had Sophia, by the way how is she?", she asks. I get in my car and shut the door, starting my car, "She's perfectly healthy, oh mom, I have to go, I really have to get to this interview", I say as I start to pull out of our driveway. My mom sighs on the other line, "Okay, I'm sorry I bugged you", she says. I shake my head as I put her on Bluetooth, "You didn't bug me, just caught me at a bad time", I say as I stop at a red light. My mom laughs, "Well, call me when you can, give Sophia a kiss for me and tell Caleb I'll be coming soon", she says. I drive as I start to get confused, "Wait what? Your coming to see Caleb? What day and what time?", I ask as I stop at another stoplight. My mom sighs, "Tomorrow at 11, is that okay with you?", she says happily. I sigh, pulling into Starbucks as I keep talking to her, "That's fine but, you probably won't see me, you'll probably only see Sophia and James because Caleb will be at school and I'll be at Agents Of Warriors", I say as I pull in the drive thru of Starbucks.I order my coffee and wait as I talk to my mom, "Look mom, I'm sorry I don't call you all the time but, I've been busy, with Caleb being bullied at school to Sophia waking me up every night to James taking work off to me getting to approval for Agents Of Warriors", I say as I get my coffee and drive out of the drive thru. My mom sighs, "I'm sorry, it's just that your the only person I can get into contact with, I can't get in touch with your brother right now, I've tried him a million times, just goes to voicemail", she says sadly. I sigh as I stop at another red light, "Mom, he's probably busy figuring out how he will propose to his girlfriend, he's been planning for the big day, don't you think he's a little nervous?", I ask as I start to drive again. My mom sighs for the millionth time, "Look, I know he is really want to marry Marissa but, he needs to chill, marriage is a big step, look what happened to your marriage, your father forgot the rings which took awhile to find because he can't remember anything for the life of him", she says with a chuckle. I laugh, "Yeah, I remember, James decided to get the rings later and kiss me", I say with a smile. My mom laughs, "Yeah, anyway, I haven't heard from your brother in like along time, the last time I saw him was at your wedding, ever since that, he didn't come to the hospital when Caleb or Sophia was born so, something must be up", she says. I glance at the time on my dashboard, "Yeah, well, just to keep you updated, Sophia is one and Caleb is six, they are still pretty young mom, you can see them anytime you want", I say as I keep driving, looking around for the building. My mom chuckles, "I know but, I want to see you as well, your my daughter, why wouldn't I want to see my own daughter?", she asks. I smile, "I don't know, knowing you, you want to see your kids 24/7", I say with a laugh. My mom laughs, "I know, wait, you said Sophia was one?", she asks. I keep driving, looking for the address, "Yeah, one and a half, her birthday is coming up soon", I say as I turn a corner. My mom laughs, "Wow, she's getting so big, I haven't seen her since she was newborn, she was so tiny, the doctors thought she wasn't going to make it, now look at her", she says with a small laugh. I smile, "Yep, she's perfectly healthy, well I'm here at Agents Of Warriors so, I have to go, bye, I'll talk later, love you", I say quickly as I hang up. I lean against my seat, taking a deep breath in, "I can do this", I say to myself as I get out of the car, shutting the door. I walk up to the building and open the door to feel the nice air conditioning blow on me as I enter the building, "Hi, are you Olivia Brennan?", I hear someone ask me. I turn to the side of me to see a tall guy with a suit on, brown hair and brown eyes smiling at me, "Yes", I say as he walks over to me. The man holds out his hand and smiles, "Alexander Prescott, the boss of Agents Of Warriors", he says as I shake his hand. I let go and nod, "You ready for the interview?", he asks me as I follow him into this room. I sigh, nodding, "Yep", I say happily. He nods, "Please sit", he says as he points to a chair. I nod and sit down, feeling nervousness overcome me, "We are going to just ask you a couple of questions and we'll tell you if you made it it after we decided if your eligible for training", he says as he sits across from me. He looks at a paper and sighs, "What is your full name?", he asks. I take a deep breath, "Olivia Gabriel Brennan", I say clearly. Alexander nods and writes it down on his paper, "Are you married?", he asks seriously. I nod, not speaking, "Do you have kids?", he asks. I nod, "Okay, how many?", he asks, throwing questions at me. I sit still, "Two, a six year old boy and a one year old girl", I say sincerely. Alexander nods, still looking at his paper, "Okay, are you strong?", he asks. I nod my head, "Yes", I say. Alexander keeps looking at his paper, scratching his chin, "Do you have experience as an agent?", he asks. I shrug my shoulders, "Kinda, I have been wanting to be an agent since I got out of college but, I fell in love with my husband and got married, I thought after that, I could start but then I found out I was having a baby so, I kinda put that to the side, after my son was born, I was going to sign up but, I had to find the right one. When my son was three, I still couldn't find the right agency that would not make me work everyday or make me work the whole day so that I couldn't see my son or my husband a lot or at all, I knew my son was young so, I decided to give up and wait until my son was older, after awhile, my husband lost his job so I helped him find a job, finally when my son was five, I thought this was the perfect time to look more and sign up, then when I found out I was having another baby, I put it to the side again and thought until my daughter was born, I'm going to not do anything and just listen what the doctors say. Now here we are, I now don't have any distractions or anything stopping me, that's why I decided now is the right time", I say, taking a deep breath after. Alexander looks up at me and smiles, "Looks like your eligible for training, you'll train tomorrow at 7, you'll have a trainer too, look for Agent Welther or Evelyn Welther", he says as he hands me a paper that has a stamp that says PASS on it. I smile and stand up, "Thank you so much, this means so much to me", I say as I hold out my hand. Alexander smiles and shake my head, letting go after three seconds, "Your welcome, you'll be a great member to our team", he says as he leads me out of the room. I walk behind him and we make it out to the front office, "We'll see you tomorrow", he says with a smile. I smile and nod, "Thank you, see you tomorrow", I say as I walk out of the building, heading to my car. I smile as I open the door and get in the driver's seat. I start my car and call my mom, "Hey, your finally free?", she asks happily. I laugh, "Yeah, I got into an agency", I say as I pull out of the driveway. My mom gasps, "Oh, I'm so proud of you sweetie, have you told James yet?", my mom asks. I laugh, "Nope, I'm driving home to tell him right now", I exclaim as I stop at a red light. My mom sighs happily, "How is James by the way?", she asks happily. I shrug my shoulders as I start driving again, "I don't know, he's been taking a lot of days off at work. He keeps saying because he wants to spend time with Sophia and I but, I know that really isn't the reason", I say concerned as I stop at another stop light. My mother sighs, "Huh, he needs to stop doing that though, is he taking a lot off?", she asks me. I turn on our street and sigh, "Yeah, it's like he's not even working", I say as I drive down our street. My mom sighs, "I need to talk to him, you have been working so hard to take care of Caleb and Sophia, has he been even helping you take care of them?", she asks curiously. I nod, "Yeah, just he isn't doing his job and he says the reason why is because he wants to spend time with Sophia and I", I say as I pull into our driveway. My mother sighs, "I don't believe that for a second", she says. I sigh, running my hands through my hair, "I'm going to talk about it to him", I say as I take my mom off Bluetooth. I hold the phone up to my ear and get out of my car, closing the door, "Well, I have a surprise for you tomorrow", she says happily. I laugh, "Okay, you didn't have to but whatever", I say as I get the house keys from my bag. My mother laughs, "Yes I did, you have been working so hard, taking care of Caleb and Sophia, you need someone to cheer you up", she says. I unlock the front door and open the door, keeping the phone up to my ear, "Wait, your bringing someone with you? A person is the surprise?", I ask as I walk inside the house, closing the door behind me. My mother laughs, "I wasn't supposed to spill that, do you just want me to tell you who it is?", she asks. I put my bag on the counter and take my shoes off, "Yeah, just say it", I say with a chuckle. My mom sighs, "Your brother is coming", she says happily. I sit on the couch, "Wow, he finally decided to see me", I say sarcastically. My mother sighs, "Yes, just be grateful he's coming", she says annoyed. I shake my head and sigh, "Fine, I'm going to go, I'm starving, talk to you later", I say as I get off the couch, hanging up the phone. I run my hands through my hair and sigh, "You okay?", I hear James ask. I look behind me to see James smiling sadly at me, "Yeah, just mad at my mom right now", I say frustrated. James shakes his head and sits next to me on the couch, wrapping his arm around my back, "What did she do?", he asks. I shake my head, "She's coming over tomorrow to see us and the kids", I say. James looks at me confused, "That's good, you haven't seen her over a month, why is that bad?", he asks. I just sigh, "She's bringing Hudson with her, my brother", I say. James stays silent, "Oh, that's a surprise", he says unexpected. I shake my head, sighing as I get off the couch, "I'm going to be gone tomorrow, I have training tomorrow", I say as I walk upstairs. I walk into our room and get my pajamas off the bed, heading to the bathroom to take a shower, "Olivia, wait, we can talk about this", I hear James say. I just ignore him and get in the shower, washing myself

10 minutes later

"Olivia, you okay?", I hear James ask from outside the bathroom door. I dry my hair with my towel and put my pajamas on, opening the door, "I'm fine James, I just went to take a shower", I say as I keep drying my hair off with my towel. Before I can close the door, James grabs my arm, looking at me, "Olivia, you can tell me what's wrong", he says sincerely. I roll my eyes and try to rip free from his hand but he's too strong, "I'll talk more when I'm out of the bathroom", I say as I finally rip my arm out of James's hand. I shut the door and blow dry my hair. I walk out of the bathroom and plop on our bed, looking up at the ceiling, "You must've got into the agency if you have training tomorrow", I hear James say as he plops next to me. I nod my head, "Yep I did make it in", I say happily. James turns me over so that I'm laying on my side, looking at him, "I'm so proud of you", he says happily. I smile, shrugging my shoulders, "Thanks I guess", I say with a small smile. James smiles back at me, "So, how was your day?", he asks me. I smile, "Okay I guess, except when my mother told me the news of my brother coming tomorrow, I can't see any of them tomorrow", I say as I get off the bed, walking back and forth across the room. James sits up and looks at me, "They'll see Sophia and I but, not Caleb till after school and you until training is over", he says. I shrug my shoulders, thinking about that, "Tell them tomorrow that they need to wait until Caleb is out of school and I am out of training to see both of u", I say as I get in bed, pulling the covers over me. James gets in bed next to me, looking at me, "I just remembered, you haven't said hi to Caleb or Sophia at all, why is that? You always play with Sophia and Caleb after you come home", he asks. I close my eyes, taking a deep breath, "Because I'm too tired today, I have to get up at 6 A.M, I have to be there by 7", I say. James nods and gets out of bed, "Okay, I'm putting Caleb and Sophia to bed, I'll be back", he says as he walks out of the room. I nod slowly and start to fall asleep, falling asleep to the sound of crickets.
