🥀Chapter 1: Back To Step One🥀

"GOOD MORNING, IVANGELYS!!!!"

"AH-" I jolted up at the sudden voice that woke me up. Seeing my younger sister Alyse behind my bed, jumping up and down, I let myself relax again as I let out a heavy sigh. "Alyse!!!"

"Yes?" She asked with her usual innocent smile. I swear, she's the younger female version of Satan.

I rolled my eyes before letting out a yawn. "You should hurry." She said as she opened the door to leave, pointing at my clock. "Don't you have English Literature at 9:30?"

She walked out, and I looked at the clock. She was right. However, the professor called us the day before to let us know classes were dismissed today.

But I didn't tell anyone, I could use it as an excuse.

I stretched my arms behind my back, soon standing up. God, my hair was a mess!

Today was serious, I can't look like this!

I took a quick shower, soon after blowdrying and brushing my hair, then wrapping it in a high ponytail. Putting on my favorite red crop top, along with my black jeans and black heeled boots, I went downstairs.

I went into the kitchen, taking one of my mugs and making myself some coffee. Grabbing my now full mug, I brought it up to my lips, blowing softly so I wouldn't burn myself.

"If it didn't work the past five times, it's not gonna work now." I said as I felt a familiar atmosphere behind me.

I heard Noah groan in defeat, making me turn around as I took a sip of my coffee. "You're boring." He said as he puffed his cheeks.

I shrugged. "Not my fault you use the same tactic each time."

He huffed, crossing his arms, making my chuckle. He could be so childish sometimes, but I found it adorable.

It wasn't long until Aiden came down to the kitchen with Sage in her fox form, around his shoulders. "Morning, everyone."

"Good morning, guys!" greeted Alyse who was now lying upside down on the couch, watching her cartoons.

"How will pancakes do this morning?" He asked as he took out a few ingredients.

Sage and Alyse perked up, both speaking in sync. "Yes!!!"

Aiden chuckled, taking the remaining ingredients he needed.

I looked at the clock on the wall. "Sorry, I'll have to cut it short, don't wanna be late for class."

Noah turned into his hawk form, landing on my head. "Can I maybe tag along again? Keep you company?"

I let out a sigh, gently taking him in my hands. "Sorry, N, not this time."

He gave me a small pout. "Why...?!?"

"I have a pretty serious test today, I don't want any distractions."

He stayed quiet for a few seconds before smirking. "So I'm a distraction~?"

I stared at him, unfazed. "Goodbye, Noah."

He laughed, soon flying and landing on the counter. "Good luck on your test, Iv."

I gently ruffled his head feathers, soon leaving the house.

Did I like lying to everyone? No. I really didn't. I regret it, deeply.

But telling them the truth is not an option for me.
