"It's almost time...!"

"I'm not sure about this, Ash..."

"Oh c'mon, we've been planning this forever...!"

"I know, but it could be dangerous! Not just for us...!"

"If you're not coming, I'm doing it on my own, and then we'll see who's more powerful..."

"Alright, alright, I'll go..."

~~~~~~~~~Noah's POV~~~~~~~~~

I was awaken by a strange sound that had started in the room. I was a bit groggy since I didn't really plan on waking up yet, but going back to sleep was troublesome with the noises.

I let out a yawn, rubbing my eyes as I sat up, finding myself in Iv's room. I guess I fell asleep here last night.

It's happened a few times before, we've both gotten used to it by now.

My head turned to Iv who was laying on the bed, a far enough distance from me. However, I quickly grew worried.

She tightly hugged her pillow; her skin sweaty and pale, her eyebrows furrowed, as if she were nervous, or even scared. Her breathing was a bit heavy and uneven, but quiet.

Even if I'd known her for over a year now, I had barely ever seen her show any signs of fear. Sure, I've seen her freak out or panic, but most of the times they all came out as anger. That, or she's anxious about a test.

"N... n-no..."

She gripped her pillow, squirming around as she muttered under her breath.

I reached over, gently placing a hand on her shoulder to help her wake up. She had no reaction, so I shook her a bit. "Iv...?"

"S-stop... you don't-... know w-what... y-you're doing..."

Okay, now I was really worried...

"Iv, wake up...!" I tried to shake her again, but backed away as she began to glow red, making my eyes grow a bit wide.

"No..."

"I-I said stop...!"

"J-just stop, this c-could cost so many l-lives...!!!"

"I SAID STOP!!!"

I was startled when she yelled, her eyes shooting open. She tightly gripped her pillow, breathing heavily as her eyes stayed wide.

"I-Iv...?"

She flinched a bit at my voice, soon looking up at me, fear noticeable in her eyes. She stayed silent, slowly sitting up. I reached over, placing a hand on her shoulder to try and comfort her.

I, however, was forced to pull it back at the sudden heat that burned my hand. I hissed at the pain, holding it in my other hand.

Iv quickly looked over in shock. "S-sorry, I'm sorry!"

I forced out a small chuckle trying to let her know it was okay. "It's fine, I'm fine, it'll heal in a bit."

She took a deep breath to calm herself down, and I noticed her eyes grow darker to their normal brown color.

"That must've been some dream, huh..?" I asked, not knowing what else to say.

Iv had already crawled over, taking my hand in hers as she glowed a soft orange. "You could say that..."

"You wanna talk about it..?"

She waited a few seconds before shaking her head, pulling away, my hand now fully healed. She stood up before stretching, walking to her drawer and taking some clothes before leaving the room. I was still worried, and maybe even a bit curious about her nightmare, but if she didn't want to share it, then I had to understand.

I looked at my hand. By this time, I had already learned how Iv showed her main emotions. Whenever she's happy or calm, she'd be normal, whenever she was sad or hurt, she'd be as cold as ice, whenever she was angry-...

Well, Aiden always calms her down before she can be that angry, so I think I should be afraid.

And then, whenever she was anxious or afraid, her skin would boil, which is why I burned my hand. But she's always been good at stopping herself from letting her powers getting the best of her, so the fact whatever she dreamt of caused her to lose control did frighten me...

I was startled when I heard the door open a few minutes later. Iv walked inside wearing her usual outfit as she tied her hair up. "Well, aren't you gonna get ready?"

"Huh?"

"To go to K's Place."

"O-oh, right!" I let out an awkward chuckle, standing up. "I'll be right back." I said as I left the room, going to mine.

As I got ready, a thought entered my mind.

I know I told Alyse I wouldn't do it anytime soon, but... the sooner I ask, the sooner I get over it if she says no, right...?

I mean, unless she says yes.

...

Yeah, as if she'd agree to be with me...
