🥀Chapter 11: The Argument🥀

~~~~~~~~~Iv's POV~~~~~~~~~

Aiden and I were outside the house while Alyse took care of Noah and Sage in the living room. I leaned against the wall as I kept my gaze down, gently gripping my arms as I felt the anger radiate off of him.

I did it.

I told him.

Everything.

He wasn't happy, not by a long shot.

"You're telling me that you've been constantly visiting Ashley in prison without telling me, you lied about her being moved to another country, and that the reason she's in prison in the first place is partially your fault?"

I waited a few seconds, looking away. "Yes."

"And how come I didn't recognize her?"

"She has an illusion spell on."

"Are you kidding me?!?" I tightened my grip on myself as he raised his voice. "What were you thinking?!?"

"I was a kid, Aiden, I didn't know any better!" I tried not to raise my voice, I already knew how angry he was. 

He gripped the bridge of his nose. "That's not what I'm talking about!!! Why didn't you tell me about this?!? You know how dangerous she is!!!"

"The only reason I let her stay is because I didn't want anyone finding out about this, kinda late now, though."

"Iv, there's a reason she was sent to live with us years ago! With Dad and his sister's powers, and her hunger for power, she's a really dangerous person!" He softly gripped his hair, not knowing what to do. "She could've us!!! She nearly succeeded killing Sage and Noah!!! Who knows what she would've done to us!!!"

I turned to face him, feeling my anger start to boil inside. "I didn't tell you because I knew you'd react like this!!!"

"HOW WOULD YOU REACT, IV?!?" I flinched a little as he yelled, his eyes flickering between their normal light blue to a dark indigo. "YOU LIED TO ME, FOR YEARS!!! AND NOW WE'RE ALL IN DANGER!!!"

I kept my gaze down, my hands bawling tightly into fists.

I wanted to fight back...

I wanted to scream...

I wanted to yell...

But I knew he was right...

That's the main reason I didn't tell him, isn't it...? I thought by keeping it a secret, I could save them all... Or maybe I was just afraid of what they'd think of me because I knew I did wrong...

"... You're right... I know you are... You always are..." I looked up, a serious expression on my face. "Which is why I'm going to fix this."

"What are you-?"

"I started this whole mess, it's my fault we're in this, so I'm gonna get us out of it." I took the spell book I found earlier out of my bag. I could use this to track Ashley.

His eyes widened. "No, you're not going after her on your own. I'm not letting you."

I looked at my hand, secretly forming a tiny red orb with floated above my finger. "I'm sorry, Aiden. But this is something I have to do." Before be could realize what I was doing, I flicked the little orb which landed on his forehead, his eyes flickering to red before starting to fall forward, fainting.

I catcher him before he could reach the ground, gently resting him down against the tree.

Hopefully I'll be able to fix my mistake, if it's the last thing I do.

~~~~~~~~~Aiden's POV~~~~~~~~~

After a long while of floating in darkness, I finally started to regain my consciousness. I let out a small groan as I felt comforts underneath me, slowly opening my eyes.

I looked to see myself on the couch, my head resting on Sage's lap as she softly ran her fingers through my hair.

I tried to sit up, though I was feeling really tired. Sage realized I was awake, helping me sit up. "Hey..."

I softly gripped my head, looking at her. "I... what happened...?"

"We're not sure... Everything went quiet earlier so we went outside and saw you unconscious on the ground..."

Alyse walked over, offering a cup of water. I gave her a small smile, taking the cup. "Thanks..." I then looked around, growing worried. "Where's Iv...?"

"We hoped you would know..." I turned to see Noah leaning against the counter, his arms crossed as he stared at the ground, worry obvious in his features.

I thought for a moment, remembering what happened. The argument, Ashley, the book.

"Oh no..." I buried my face in one of my hands, letting out a groan of defeat. They all looked at me in worry, and I looked up. "I think she's going after Ashley..."

Sage's expression quickly changed from worry to anger. "I would've done so already, but whatever she did to us made us a lot weaker..."

"Who is she anyways, why would she do that?!?" Noah asked as he walked over.

I sighed. "It's a long story..."
