23 Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

"Wow." Jounouchi states simply, staring at the magazine in front of him. "What a bummer that this wasn't released in Japan. I would have pasted your face on my wall Ren." he notes, looking back at Ren who is hiding her face.

"Knock it off." she mumbles.

She's been getting reactions like that all day, ever since Yugi blabbed that she was in a magazine somewhere, Honda and Jounouchi started scouring everywhere for the issue now in their hands.

"More like her cleavage." Honda snickers, peering over his friend's shoulder as he stares at Ren's picture, her skating suit hanging at her hips, leaving her top covered by a tight tank top.

Ren huffs indignantly. "You're disgusting!" she shouts before turning her glare to Yugi. "This is your fault!" she hisses, making him shrink in his seat as her fist waves at him threateningly.

"I'm so sorry!" he meeps, sighing in relief when she turns her back at him. He glances back towards the picture held up for all to see and blushes again, sighing. "So pretty." he breathes dreamily before turning his gaze back towards Ren. "But not as good as the real thing."

"What's all the fuss about? Yugi, go check." Ren ushers, pushing him through the crowd gathered at the school's bulletin board.

"But-..." he starts. "You owe me!" she quickly cuts him off, making him sigh. She's going to hold that over his head for a while isn't she?

Pushing his way through the crowd, he reads the pamphlet posted there before struggling his way back, looking up at an expectant Ren. "It's about a popularity contest." he explains, making her tilt her head. That's it?

"The winner gets two tickets to the musical 'Beauty and the Beast'." he adds, making Ren's demeanor change from bored to excited in a millisecond.

"Disney! My only weakness!" she grasps at her heart dramatically. "Curse them."

Yugi blinks up at her questioningly. "Does that mean you are going to enter?" he asks.

"Mmh, I would, but..." she shrugs, shaking her head. "There is no way I would win." she sighs, bummed out.

Yugi smiles. "Don't say that! Many people at school like you, plus; you have everything you need to win in you." he says with conviction.

"Really?" Ren breathes, touched by his confidence. Yugi nods, no doubt in his eyes whatsoever.

"Okay! Let's sign up! Where to Yugi?" she asks, making him point toward the gym. She quickly sets off, dragging the poor boy behind her.

"Jounouchi?" Ren questions as she sees him rushing up to the sign in sheet as well. "What do you have to gain from a popularity contest? You don't care about popularity."

"It's the tickets. That musical is a big thing. I'm gonna win them and sell em for big bucks." Jounouchi states, grinning.

"You idiot." Ren sighs, watching him sign his name after threatening the boy behind the sign up desk. Looks like he's going to be the only boy in this.

"Well unlike you, I actually want to see that musical, so I'm going to give it my all. You better not got in my way Jounouchi." Ren warns as she signs her name as well.

Jounouchi grins. "He he. You're on."

"What are you guys doing here?" Anzu questions, as she comes up running.

"Jounouchi and Ren are entering in the popularity contest." Yugi explains, eying the two who are in each other's faces. "Are you here to sign up as well?"
