"Please chiiiiiil." Ren begs Anzu as she talks a mile a minute. She has since rushing into the shop five minutes earlier. Ren can hardly follow what she's saying; Something about a model and dancing and stars and in her eyes and all that kind of stuff.
"She scares me~." Ren tears up as she hides behind Yugi who laughs awkwardly.
"I just want to say, that Aileen Rao is my idol!" Anzu squeals.
"Yeah, I got that." Ren sighs, happy she's finally quieting down.
They look up when the door opens to a customer. It's a tall woman with tanned skin. It's clear that she's not from around here.
She takes long and elegant strides, stopping right in front of Anzu. "Let me see." she says in perfect Japanese, taking the tape Anzu was ranting about earlier before whipping out a pen, gracefully jotting something on it.
"A signed version would make it better." the woman states, returning it to Anzu before sliding off her sunglasses, causing Anzu's brain to stop working as she recognizes the woman.
Ren blinks at the woman curiously, glancing back to the cover of Anzu's tape and her. Is this really...?
She then turns to grandpa, "If you have rare games, I would like to see them."
"What kind of game do you like?" he asks.
"I don't like ones that rely on luck. Ones where you read and trick each other are good." she muses.
While grandpa ponders about it, she turns to face the teens, by then Anzu finally managed to tell them who the woman was; Aileen Rao herself.
"What kind of games are you good at?" she asks Yugi, who smiles.
"Me? I like all games." he answers innocently.
Aileen smiles and before she can ask more, Anzu nearly assaults the woman, fangirling over her. "Ha ha. Sorry about her." Ren apologizes pulling at Anzu's arm to keep a little control over the girl.
"Mh? Haven't I seen you before?" Aileen questions, her gaze set on Ren.
"Uhm...." Ren hums in thought, not sure about it. She can't remember ever running into her.
"A yes!" Aileen exclaims. "I saw you once in a sports magazine." she states in realization.
Ren blushes as Yugi gasps. "You were in a magazine?!"
Ren shrugs. "It was a while ago, nothing special." Ren says, trying to trivialize the matter.
"I knew it. I never forget a face." Aileen hums, nodding her head. "And it was not just anything sweetheart. I'm certain your face was plastered over all the boy's walls at the time." she winks, making Ren grow even redder while Yugi makes a mental note to start up a search.
Aileen's eyes flit between the two, noticing Yugi's look of awe whenever he looks up at Ren. "Are you two together?" she asks bluntly, making them both freeze and starts stammering denials. Aileen smiles as if something comes to her mind.
She takes out a card, handing it to Anzu. "This is where I'm staying. You're a fan, I'd like to show you around." she offers.
Anzu resists a squeal, gladly accepting. "Will you two come as well?" Aileen offers to the other two, surprising them. "And find an interesting game and bring it please." she requests, making Yugi agree.
"Okay, I'm counting on you." Aileen tells him before bidding them goodbye.
...........
Ren heaves a sigh, getting tired from logging all these bags of games along with her. Yugi too is struggling with the bags. Anzu however refused to carry them as the flowers she got for Aileen would get crushed.
