hi there, it's been a while. like what, 3 months? im sorry about that.
i cant really say that things have been hard so i couldnt update, because that would be a lie. so you can basically just blame my chronic laziness for the lack of updates.

i had way too much fun with this whoops
slight, SLIGHT angst. really, it's hardly there.
kind of? fantasy!au
person a is an aspiring director, with a fierce love for old fashioned movies. whenever they have a day off, they will go to their town's old cinema, the one that is on the brink of closing due to lack of customers.
why? because it is only this cinema that has the film reel of this one movie, the one that inspires person a to the very core. person a loves this movie so, so much, and perhaps, it's because of the main character.
(yes, the main character is person b)
the owner of the cinema is on the verge of selling the reel, as not only is it antique, but it's also the only remaining copy of the film that anyone can find.
person a begs to see it one more time, and reluctantly, the owner agrees.
when the film plays on the screen, person a wishes with all their might to be with person b, to capture their magic within the screen and show the world the beauty of this old fashioned film.
the old cinema lights cut out, and when they turn back on, person b, still in black and white, is right in front of them.
(yes they came out of the movie, and let's say the magic of wishing or there was a shooting star or something idk)
person a, obviously, flips their shit. person b just demands that person a is now their guide in this strange, new world, and that, what is that? what are these strange things? why are they different-
person a explains about colours, and their heart nearly bursts at the absolute wonder in person b's eyes.

they go through a lot of situations and problems, since person b is still not accustomed to this world and nearly gets killed several times, but person a still has the time of their life with every moment they spend with the other.
this doesn't stop their feelings though.
it was bad enough to have a crush on a movie character, but it had only gotten a thousand times worse when person b is suddenly their housemate. or student, really.
it gets to the point where person a can't handle it anymore and confesses.
they don't understand why person b looks so downcast, and even more so when person b says that the feeling is mutual. yet their heart sinks when they realize why.
it turns out that person b will disappear from existence from skin contact. absolutely no trace. nobody will remember them, not the people they've encountered, and even the movie would be forgotten by everyone.
person a is crushed, but also determined.
stupidly determined.
but also in love.
they say they don't care, that they just want to be with person b until the end of time. person b admits that they will never age, but person a is still unshaken.

they seem like the strangest couple to everyone else, and dermatologists really DO hate person b, but they're happy.

when person a becomes old and is admitted to the hospital, person b visits as often as they can.

the nurses and doctors believe that person b is person a's grandchild.
person a and b laugh about it in secret, their gloved hands intertwined with fondness.

it's only when person a passes away that they have their first kiss.

when the nurses first reach the body, they're confused at the strange pile of clothes on top of the linen sheets.
after all, nobody had ever visited this elder.
