Part 9: Hiking with her

I was in the tent getting changed as y/n was still eating breakfast. I put on a t-shirt and a pair of joggers and slipped back on my running shoes as I left the tent. "I'm done changing, so you can use the tent now if you want." I told her. She smiled and headed into the tent.

"Dude, you totally are crushing on her." Jacob told me quietly, smiling. I choked up, "What? No I don't. Why would you think that?" He laughed and scoffed, "Every time you talk to her you start blushing. Plus, the way you look at her, and you can't deny it." "I don't know what you're talking about. I don't like her, she's just a friend." I lied. I really wanted to tell him how I felt about y/n, but I didn't want anything to ruin our friend group. plus, he would find out eventually. "Whatever you say Tom." He said as he rolled his eyes.

After a few minutes of silence sitting around the unlit fire, Zen and y/n came out of the tents. "You guys ready?" Jacob asked them as we both stood up. "Yup!" Zen replied as y/n nodded. We grabbed some water bottles and we were on our way.

Y/n:

"Can you tell us where we are going now?" Me and Zen begged. "You'll see soon." Tom told us laughing. I groaned and we turned the music back up for the rest of the ride.

Seeing all the nature and scenery was really beautiful. It's not like being in LA only seeing all the buildings. It is beautiful in LA too but not like being here. Anyways, the boys told us we were like 20 minutes away from where we were going. I was guessing it was a hike or a lake because of how far it was away from the main town.

"We're here!" Jacob said excitedly as he parked the car. "Okay well now you have to tell us what we are doing." Zen added. Tom laughed, "Okay, okay. We are going on a nice hike, right by the water. It's ranked the best hike in this area, so we decided to check it out." Me and Zen cheered as i grabbed the water and the picnic basket from the trunk.
"Well, you guys lead the way cause me and Zen have no clue where to go." I stated, making Tom and Jacob laugh. "What's so funny?" Zen questioned them. "To be honest, we don't either." Tom shrugged. I laughed and we started to follow the path for the hike.

It was absolutely beautiful. Seeing the lake, the animals, the flowers, and just over all everything. Especially when I got to see it with my best friends. We were all having an amazing time.
Sometimes the path got more narrow at some points, so it was normally 2 and 2 walking beside each other. It was mostly me and Tom, and then Jacob and Zen. Tom and I had some good conversations about random things like the scenery and stuff. It was good getting to talk to him even more, especially on this hike.

Tom:

The hike was amazing. It was so beautiful and talking to y/n made it even better. "You know, it's been really nice talking to you y/n. It's good to have conversations like this." I told her, smiling. "Yeah. Especially on a day like this with all this scenery around us. thank you so much for finding this place, it's absolutely beautiful." She thanked, returning the smile.
It was silent for a bit as we enjoyed our walk. I really wanted to hold her hand right now so badly but I doubt she wanted to hold mine.

"Why don't we stop right here by the lake and have some sandwiches? I'm super hungry." Zen offered. We all agreed and sat down to have some food. Luckily, there was an old picnic table we found so we moved that over so it was in the shade. We started eating and started up conversations. We got laughing and joking around as ate. It was such a fun day already and we had even more of an amazing hike to see.
