A/N: Sorry that I haven't been updating recently, but I've been quite busy. I'll try to post at least one chapter a week, if not more!
Also, If you'd like to make suggestions for chapter/story ideas, feel free! Back to the story...
"What was that all about?" Mallow asked. You were on the phone to her that night. "I told you, nothing." You replied, smoothing out the covers of your bed. You could imagine her face of disbelief right now. "Look, he's my friend. We're meant to be enemies, I know, but..." You trailed off. "I just don't want you to do things that you'll regret, that's all." She said. "I know what I'm doing. I promise, I won't do anything I'll regret." You stroked Torracat, who was on your lap. "Ok. I'll see you tomorrow!" She said, satisfied with your answer. "Bye!" You hung up and sighed. You changed into your pyjamas and got into bed.
In the morning, it was raining. A rare sight in Alola. You looked out the window to find puddles everywhere. "Fun." You mumbled. You were meant to be training with Torracat today. Just then Torracat escaped from her Pokéball and meowed up at you expectantly. You picked her up and caressed her head. "Sorry, we might not be able to train today. It's raining and I don't have an umbrella. Also, you're a fire type, so..." She gave a sad meow before licking your hand. "I mean, we can go if it stops raining, it's just that I don't particularly want to get wet and I don't imagine you do either, to be honest." You gave her a weak smile. She jumped from your arms onto your bed and started stretching. "I'm gonna go get some food." You told her, before walking out of the room and down the stairs.
"Morning Y/N!" The professor called as you came in. (You're staying with him, sorry I forgot to mention that! Ash is there too, much to your delight.) "Morning!" You said, fiddling with a bowl and cereal. Ash wasn't up yet. Result. You poured out some of Torracats' food and tapped your spoon on her bowl. Soon she appeared and started eating. It had become a bit of a ritual of yours. "Pity it's raining." You said in-between mouthfuls of cereal. "Mm." The professor replied. You were lost in your thoughts for a while before you were snapped back to reality. There was a knock at the door. The Professor started to get up, but you shouted: "I'll get it!" And ran to the front door. Slowly, you opened it.
No-one was there. But then your gaze fell to a small purple parcel at your feet that had been left at the doorstep. You picked it up before giving the outside world a cautious look and closing the door. When you got back to the table Ash was up and feeding his Pokémon. You sat back down on your chair and Torracat jumped up onto your lap. You started to examine the parcel in your hands. "Who's that from?" Ash asked. "Dunno." You replied. "Isn't there a tag or anything?" The professor asked, looking over your shoulder at it. You shook your head and started to open it. Inside was a small box. You opened it and gasped. Inside was a golden necklace with a silver silhouette of a cat on the end. "Wow!" You said, putting it on. "That's nice. I wonder who gave it to you though?" The professor said. "Is there one for me?" Ash shouted, excited. "No." You said. "Sorry." You added. He quickly forgot about it and got back to eating. It was on your mind all morning though... Whoever left that necklace must have cared a lot. It looked expensive. But... Who was it?
