Y/N's POV
As you looked out the window, it had stopped raining. Perfect. You grabbed a rucksack and put some water and food into it. Then, trying not to have second thoughts, you carefully laid the handcuffs in. The Professor, Ash and Emily wouldn't be back for quite a while. You took a few bites of a sandwich before walking out the door. You wouldn't be there when they came back anyway. You would most likely be at the police station, filing out something or other.

James's POV
I grabbed a few berries to eat on the way as I walked. They didn't taste amazing, in fact a bit like something had already eaten them. But that didn't matter right now. I needed to make up to Y/N for what I did. For what everyone did.

A few minutes later, I saw her figure in the distance. As she got closer, I saw that she had changed clothes, much like me. Maybe she was looking for a new beginning too? She tried to avoid my gaze as she got closer. Her
E/C eyes were a little bit glassy still, her hair wasn't so windblown as before. We were right in front of each other now. "James..." She said, looking at the floor. "It's ok, Y/N. It's not your fault. It's totally mine. 100%." I said. Before I knew it, she had her arms around me, mumbling various apologies.

Y/N's POV
You put your arms around him, and your eyes were spilling again. How could you have even thought about arresting him? You knew it was wrong, but you were going to let this one off. You buried your head in his chest and closed your eyes. Did this mean you were ok again? "I'm so sorry, Y/N. I didn't mean to hurt you." He said. "I'm sorry too. For storming off, and shouting at you and stuff. It's all my fault and I wish I'd never done it." He stroked my H/C hair, careful not to mess is up again. "Do you want to go somewhere to eat?" He asked. You looked up at him and nodded. "Where shall we go?" You asked. "Well... I can't go to Mallows' because she'll kill me, I can't go to the battle buffet because I might have stolen food from there, I can't go to that hotel on Akala because I set it on fire..." You sighed. "To be honest, I'd expect Kiawe to set the hotel on fire but ok." He chuckled awkwardly. "So... That leaves... The malasada shop?" You said hopefully. Your eyes lit up at the thought of eating a steamy hot malasada... "Nope." You narrowed your eyes at no-one in particular, your dreams immediately crushed. "I stole their business." This time you were the one laughing. "Why don't we just go to my house?" You smiled at him. It was the only option, and you know... It might be nice for him to see where you lived. "Sure." He said, and took your hand.

A few minutes later, you arrived at your house. You slowly opened the door to the Professor's house. James's beautiful green eyes widened as he took it all in. You stroked inside and took your shoes off. He followed, and carefully, at the door, took off his shoes. (Sorry that sentence was a reference to a poem that I love!) He wolf whistled as he walked in. "Nice house!" You nodded in agreement. "Yeah, it's pretty nice actually. Not mine, but I kinda wish it was." You gave him a minute to take in his surroundings. "Do you want a grand tour?" You asked. "Sure!" He nodded. All you needed to do was keep an eye on the time and this would work out fine.

"So, um, here's the kitchen area. It's not big but it's possibly my favourite place. And over here is the sitting thingy, with chairs, and a TV and stuff." You had to admit, you weren't overly good at touring, but he was following you around, his emerald eyes following your hand as you pointed to what you were talking about. "Up there is where Ash sleeps. I'm not going to go up there because who knows what kind of manky stuff is growing. Through here..." You pushed open another door to a corridor. "In this room is the bathroom, and down there at the end of the corridor, that's mine and Emily's room. You walked down and dramatically opened the door to an awakening Torracat staring at you and James like you were aliens.

"What? He's allowed here too. Come on, Torracat, you know him." If Torracat was a human, right now she'd be shrugging her shoulders. But instead she gave you a look and rubbed up against James's ankles. You guessed 'the look' was the Pokémon equivalent to shrugging. "Hello, Torracat. Wow, your fur is soft today!" Torracat decided to jump up a little so that her two front paws left the ground. This was a great mistake because James's hand was still caressing her head. "Ah!" He exclaimed as his hand made contact with her collar. Torracat sat back down at looked at him sadly. "I'm ok. It's not your fault." He said, holding his burnt hand gently. "Come on." You said, gently directing him to the kitchen. Torracat was following behind guiltily. "Y/N, I'm fine. It's just a little burn, I'll live." You grabbed a cloth off the side of the counter and wetted it with cold water from the tap. "But if it gets infected, that's another matter all together. Not to mention if you catch it on something it'll get worse again. Now, give me your hand."
