"Do you even know what time it is?!"
"About 2 A.M., yes, I know. But look, I've got something exciting to tell you."
"Well, it better be the most exciting thing I've heard all week or I'm gonna mute my phone and ignore you for the rest of the week, so that I can finally sleep peacefully for once."
"There's this boy in my class and his name is Renjun and he's coming over today."
Suddenly Rachel sounded way friendlier.
"No way! I told you you're gonna meet a cute korean boy!"
"Actually, he's chinese."
"Still awesome! So, when is he coming? Like, is he on his way right now?"
"It's only 12 P.M. here. I have two-"
I froze and the feeling of shock crept down my spine. "Oh my god."
"What? What happened?"
"I forgot to text Renjun."
"What do you mean?"
"I was supposed to text him my address and at what time we were going to meet up! I forgot to do it! Gosh, Rachel, I'm such an idiot!"
"Why didn't you text him earlier?!"
"I didn't want to come off as clingy! And then I forgot to do it!"
"You're such a dumbass."
I put my phone on speaker, threw it on my bed and frantically started looking for Renjun's note with his phone number on it.
"Sofia, what are you doing?!"
"I'm looking for his phone number!" I yelled, hopefully loud enough for Rachel to hear.
"You lost it?!"
"Apparently!"
Why wasn't it in my pencil case? Didn't I put it in there?
"I'm so stupid," I cried out in frustration.
"You really are sometimes. Maybe you should try to stop being so prideful and just text him next time."
"You're not helping, Rachel!"
"I'm just giving constructive criticism!"
"Well...This requires a drastic solution. I'll regret this so much."
I grabbed my school bag and poured out everything.
There it was - surrounded by textbooks and chewing gum wrappers lay the note Renjun gave me a few days ago.
"Texst me the time and date :) ~ Renjun," followed by a phone number.
"Did you find it?", Rachel's muffled voice asked.
"Yeah, now all I have to do is text him...Okay, what do I write?"
"Just text him the address and a time!"
"Sure, I'll hang up now, Rachel, okay? Bye bye."
"Don't do anything I wouldn't do! Bye!"
"I can do this," I told myself.
I only had to text him the time and place, so why did I feel so nervous?
It wasn't as easy as I had expected.
