Chapter eight
---Katie's P.O.V---
After Josh brings me home I start to think over the things that happened. 'Did I really loose my best friend?' I think. 'Or should I even call her that anymore..' I feel bad that I made Josh go through all of that. I know that he understands what I am going through and I know that he is there for me. I just can't talk with him about it anymore. I need to be by myself. I lie in my bed, alone and sad. I cant stop thinking about what happened. This doesn't help me go to bed either. It's 3:00 then 4:00 then finally 5:00 and yet I am still up.
I wake up. When did I even fall aseep? I don't know and I don't even care anymore. Yesterday floods my mind as I look at my clock. Wow its already 2:00. I wonder where everyone is so I go downstairs. On the counter a note by my sister says they are out and wont be back till 4:00. As I am reading, Josh comes in and creeps up behind me. "Hey, feeling any better?" he asks. "Not really." I say truthfully. "You look like you didn't get any sleep." He says worried. "Ya I was up all night but I just woke up." I tell him. "Oh well we can just relax today if you want." "No I'm ok. I want to get mind off of things." "Ok, are you up for the beach?" "Ya, I will go get changed." "Ok I will meet you back here in a few."
I run upstairs and get my swim suit on. I just got a new one that I think Josh will like. I go get a towel, sunscreen and sunglasses. Once I have everything I need, I go downstairs where Josh is waiting for me. "Alright let's go!" I say. We walk to the beach just like we did when we first met. When we get there Josh finds a good place or us to set our stuff down. I unpack and take the shirt I was wearing off. "Woah nice bathing suit!" he says with a smirk. "Thanks" I say while laughing. We both decide to go sprint into the freezing water together so no one gets pushed.
After a while, we both get too cold so we get out to dry off. By this time it is almost 6:00 so it is starting to get dark. "Lets just stay to see the sun set then we can go home." he say. "Alright" I agree.
As we are walking home I realize that I had forgotten all about Annie. 'Well until now.' I think. All of a sudden I see two bright lights coming straight at me and fast.
