One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon-instead of enjoying the roses blooming outside our windows today.

Violet's Point of View~

I was in Russia. The snow covered the paved concrete streets like a white blanket. The snowflakes fell, slowly and softly landing around me, as I reached out my hand as one fell to me. The cathedral bells started to ring as and I watched, fascinated as children and parents poured out of the church eager to play and get a cup of hot chocolate after a long service of worship. I couldn't help but smile as a little girl bumped past me, chasing after her brother. Alex held my hand and led me through the crowds as he returned my smile warmly.

"The thing about magic," Alex spoke, his eyes becoming misty, far off, "Is that no magic is alike. We are all different, and our magic abilities are different. One of my abilities is that I can sense how powerful someone's magic will be. And you, Violet, are extremely powerful." I thought about that for a second before I asked, "Are all werecats magical?"

Alex nodded, "Yes. All werecats have power, though some never realize it. It all started with the first werecats. Once upon a time, there was a human man named Orion, and Orion lived in the woods with his family. One day,  Orion and his family were killed by tigers, Orion as a spirit went to heaven and asked God if he could kill the cats that killed him. God refused and told him that revenge would do him no good and that the cats would be brought to justice when they died. Orion became angry, and consumed with revenge that he disobeyed God and went down from heaven and hunted down the tigers that killed him and his family. He killed those tigers. But that wasn't enough for him so he went after all cats, and he succeeded. All the big cats had been killed except one. When he was about to kill the last tiger, a white Siberian tiger, God came down from heaven and spoke to him 'Look at what you have done! You have killed my creations. You have disobeyed me and you will pay the price. You will suffer the same way the cats did. You will regret revenge until the day you die. You will be hunted, and your species will be hunted until you have learned your lesson.' God then took the soul of Orion and merged it with the soul of the white Siberian tiger, and then resurrected the big cats that Orion had killed and gave them human souls. That they be half human and half feline. Then God created werewolves to hunt the werecats, to kill them and teach Orion his lesson. Orion was cursed to live half in the body of the thing that he once hunted. Later there was a werecat named Amari, who was a good man and prayed to God for the forgiveness of Orion's sin. His prayer was heard, but the damage could not be undone. The werecats and the werewolves were enemies by nature, and nothing could undo that. So God blessed Werecats with magical powers so they could they defend themselves, but that all changed when..."

"Young man! Young man!" A merchant called from his stand. Alex and I turned away to face an old man selling flowers as the old man approached us, and handed a bouquet of roses to Alex. "For her." The old man said looking at me, and winked at Alex. Then left back to his cart, with that being said, Alex turned to me, a sly smile on his face as he handed me the roses, shyly. I accepted them and smiled at Alex's gesture. "I'll finish the story another time." Alex said as he led me down to a waterfall. We continued to walk down the streets, a girl with no knowledge of her heritage and a mysterious boy with green eyes. We walked hand in hand, accepting the situation more and more. For once, I thought, maybe I had found my home after all.
