Violet's Point of View
Jace was here. My mind was in a constant state of panic I had no idea what to do. Run? Fight? Face him? I mentally face-palmed. Jace. Jace. Jace. Why do I feel slightly excited at the idea that maybe he came back for me? No. No. No. No. Do not feel excited. You hate him. He tried to kill you, and Alex- your best friend. Come on Violet, where's your common sense? I could hear his footsteps coming closer. I sniffed the air again, miles away I felt the presence of an army of werewolves. Jace was leading them here, to me. I quickly racked my mind for thoughts, but I found none. My hands started to glow with power, I suddenly knew. I could fight them. I gazed back at Alex, we both knew what we had to do. Separate. "Alex you head North, I will fight them off, let's try to meet up at the cathedral. If I'm not there by nine, you know what happened to me." I say giving him my goodbye. Alex refused, "No I won't be a coward, I won't let you be captured." He said stubbornly, a quality that I had liked about him, but right now I found annoying. He gave me no choice. I pushed my power to the surface and unleashed it. The spell I was about to perform was dangerous, so I hope that I don't screw up. I shot my power at Alex. "Transport, transport, transport." I continued to chant my mind a repetition. I imagined Alex safe in another country, far away from the werewolves. Alex tried to stop me, but he became a puff of smoke. Then he was gone, and I was truly alone. If only I could perform the spell on myself.
The footsteps became closer and closer until they finally stopped. I didn't face him. I stared at the ground, indifferently. He wasn't here, he couldn't be.
"Violet, I have finally found you."
Jace's Point of View
I couldn't help but notice her stance. Her head was down, refusing to acknowlege me, her fists were clenched, and she was in warrior mode. She thought I was the enemy. Oh, how wrong she was. I realized, finally, how hard it would be to forgive her. After all, I couldn't forgive myself. How could she forgive me? "Violet?" I asked the open air, she looked up. My eyes met with hers. I could feel myself melting, as she stared at me, emptily. I could feel myself deflate. Here I was after my mate, in love, and I couldn't wait to right my wrongs but my mate glanced at me as if she was looking through a stranger. I was a stranger to my self. After Violet left, I pulled my pack and myself together and we moved on from Catrina. I have moved on.
She was different. I suddenly realized. Long gone, was the sweet and innocent looking girl. She was a warrior, ready to defend and kill anyone who stood in her way. I doubt I would be any different. "Violet?" She looked up at me, her expression hardened. "It's time to go home, Violet." I said as if speaking to a child. She pulled a dagger from her boot and snarled, wild and feral. "I'm not leaving without a fight." I stood ready in a fighting stance. I was getting my mate one way or another.
Catrina's Point of View
I gasped and reached for my neck. There was no cut. What's going on, I asked myself. "Hello Catrina." His lip curled up in what looked like a smile.
"You slit my throat!" I exclaimed fearfully,"I died." I realized suddenly. I remember Jace standing over me, begging for me not to die. A tear slipped down my cheek. Jace.He smiled at me, as if I was an amusing child who knew nothing.
"Oh that. A little werecat magic took care of it." I was puzzled. What did he mean by "werecat magic". The only people who have magic are the witches. I quickly dismissed it."What do you want with me?" I said backing away from him. He pulled out a blade.
"Why don't you just wait and see?" He replied. "Take her away."
I screamed as they restrained me, I struggled against them, but it was no use. I couldn't fight all of them. One of them, slammed my head against the floor. I groaned, as my head began to throb. I was losing consciousness, I tried to stand up, but it was no use. I sighed and let the darkness take over, begging for death. The outside felt like it was a million miles away. I couldn't remember happiness, it was a distant land, and I was far from home. I continued to pick at the lock. I've been doing this for months, and eventually the lock would give in. My fingers became bloody and raw, but freedom was worth everything. I just need to escape. I thought desperately. I heard a sudden click, I looked at the lock. It was finally broken. I could cry with happiness! I was finally free, and now it was time to get back to my mate.
