Steve stood up and looked at the base. Him and Tony were no where in sight, so they must've traveled back when he was catching his breath from Thor.
Steve found another delivery outfit and put it on. This time, he would do his best not to get caught.
Steve walked towards the base when an actual delivery man stopped him.
"Are you going into the base?" The man asked.
Steve nodded. "Deliver this for me, will you?"
"Sure." Steve said, taking the package. He went into the elevator of the base, and luckily, he was the only one in the elevator.
Steve looked at the package in his hand. It was a smaller square package. He read the name, only to wish he hadn't told the man he would take the package.
"Why'd it have to be her?" Steve muttered. She would for sure recognize him, unless...
Steve got out of the elevator and went to where Tony had said he got the Tesseract from. He opened the door to the compartment where the Tesseract had been before Tony took it. Steve opened the case with the Tesseract and looked around for something to hold the Tesseract with.
Steve found a pair of prongs and used it to pick up the Tesseract, putting it back into the compartment. He closed the door and gave a sigh of relief. He had put the Tesseract back with no interruptions.
Steve looked around the room for anything he could use as a disguise when delivering Peggy's package. Steve sighed when he found nothing and walked towards the elevator. He pressed the button to Peggy's floor and waited as the elevator went up. Before it got to Peggy's floor, someone else got into the elevator. It was a shorter man with a bushy brown mustache. He was holding a box of what seemed to be costumes.
"Hey." The man said.
"Hi." Steve replied.
"Delivering a package?" The man asked. Steve nodded. "Hey, would you do me a favor?"
"What?" Steve asked.
"You see, we were cleaning out one of the offices and found a bunch of old disguises, you know, that some of the spies would use. We don't need them anymore, so I was sent up to throw them away. But, I need to stop at the break room..."
"So you want me to get rid of them for you?" Steve asked.
"Yeah."
Steve sighed. "I can do it."
"Thank you." The man said, handing Steve the box. The elevator stopped at a floor and the man got off.
Steve looked in the box and found a fake beard and mustache. He quickly put them on and got off at Peggy's floor.
Steve threw the box of disguises in a trash can and walked to Peggy's office, knocking on the door.
"Yes?" Peggy said, opening the door.
Steve cleared his throat. "This is for you." He said, making his voice deeper.
"Thank you?" Peggy said, giving Steve a funny look. "Do I know you? You seem- familiar..."
"Nope, never met you." Steve lied. "Gotta go, bye."
"Goodbye?" Peggy said, closing the door.
Steve took off the disguise and threw it in the trash, continuing up the elevator. He got to the top floor and exited the elevator, going behind a truck.
"There he is!" The lady who had spotted him and Tony in the elevator when they came for the Tesseract said.
"Crap." Steve said. He quickly activated the quantum suit and began to travel through time.
