I don’t want to smile, powerless to stop
I wasn’t empty but now feel so full
My butterfly filled stomach twists and roils
Their wings brushing and causing the madness
The broken metronome in my chest
Putters out its irregularities
Falling in love is much like dying
And yet we seek out this agony
The all consuming impending mania

You terrify me beyond all cause
Due to the infinite ways you’d hurt me
My stomach plummets but my heart soars
Is this actually meant to be?
Might I get to keep you as my own?
And look into those ancient eyes all day
When I grew so used to being alone
Could I possibly get my own way?
Do things like this happen outside fables
Or am I delusional as the norm
The imaginings of the unstable
In this silence I find myself torn
Such good things do not happen to me
Will I dissect this or allow it to be?

Cruel Temptation
My cruel temptation you leave me weak
As though I exist solely to please
to carry out all that you speak
A wicked smile as you constantly tease
I’ll eternally come back for more
Anything to gaze into those eyes
Going against everything I swore
Turning my truths into a thousand lies
For I vowed never to fall like this
Or allow my heart to rule my head
Bending to your will for a single kiss
Or to stay in your arms lying in bed
My fallen angel leading me to sin
And I’ll follow gladly with a smile
Showing all I had hidden within
Still begging for more all the while
So break my heart, I no longer care
Growing to love this delicious pain
Your pleasurable torment is hardly fair
Relive this suffering over again
