The elevator ride was longer than usual, stopping at every floor, but no one dared to go inside after the doors opened and chairman Jeon appeared in front of them. Every second in that elevator felt like an eternity until we finally reached the 7th floor.
I let the chairman and Jungkook exit first, and I bowed yet again, and Jungkook waved goodbye before they made their way to the chairman Jeon's office.
As soon as they left my sight, I scurried to my desk, which conveniently is located next to the giant glass window. I often spend my breaks looking out of the window to relieve stress, enjoying the clear blue skies, rainy days, and night lights.
I sigh, wishing for this day to go by quickly so that I can take a bath and go back to sleep and hope this was all a dream.
I notice an alert from my peripheral vision. I look back to my computer screen to check my emails. I saw one particular name at the top of my inbox marked as "important."
Subject: Dinner?
From: jjk@jeoneration.com
To:y/n@jeoneration.com
"Hello Y/N,
What a small world we live in! I am delighted to know that you work here too! Now I have someone to carpool with to work!
Would you like to join me for dinner today? My treat! ;)
Peace,
Jeon Jungkook"
Well, that was quick. Do I want to eat dinner with Jungkook? I think if I were to accept this, it might not be the last, especially since I told the chairman just now that I would take good care of his son.
On the other hand, there is free food involved, and I guess it would be nice to get out of the apartment once in a while.
I jump, feeling someone whisper my name at the back of my neck. I turn around, and I see my best friend, Namjoon, trying to keep in his laughter. His dimples are more profound than ever.
"Yah! What did you do that for?" I questioned him. "You almost gave me a heart attack! Don't you know to not scare anyone in the morning? I thought you were a ghost!"
"Hey, hey, hey. Relax! I called your name a couple of times when I was walking towards your desk, but you didn't budge." Namjoon explained himself. "Good morning to you too, Y/N.," he said sarcastically.
"Uh-huh. Good morning Joonie." I said in the most annoying high-pitched tone I could while giving him puppy eyes and a pout.
This is the kind of thing I could only do with Namjoon because I've known him since I was practically in the womb. Our moms were childhood friends, and they did everything together. They went to the same college with the same major and even started a restaurant together after graduating. The only thing they did separately was get married and have kids. Mom really wanted to have me the same time as Namjoon, but she and dad had a hard time conceiving, so I popped out two years late.
"H-hey... what are you doing?" Namjoon started to turn red, and he nudged me to stop. "What are you so focused on anyway?"
"Namjoon..." I softly began, tugging his dark brown trench coat.
"What?" Namjoon, looking a bit flustered and annoyed. He pushes his hair back with his fingers.
I let go of his coat. "Can I move into your apartment?" Asking him quick and quietly through my teeth.
"W-what did you say?" He stuttered, not comprehending what I had just asked since it sounded muffled.
"Can. I. Move. Into. Your. Apartment?" Enunciating every word so that he can hear it this time around.
