A piercing ring sounds, and my eyes shoot open. I watch him exhale and move to the right, reaching over me and grabbing his vibrating phone off my desk.

"Ah." He scratches the back of his neck, staring mindlessly at the screen. "It's the delivery man. He's outside."

Jungkook lets out a deep sigh as if he's mad at the situation. "I'll go get us our food. You should continue working if we want to go home soon."

I give him a slight smile, hoping it will make the air around us less tense.

"Right, right. Go on." I nudge him over to the walkway. "I'll get to it. You don't want the food getting cold, now do you?" My awkward smile intensifies.

"Alright, see you in a few!"

I watch Jungkook's back as he walks to the elevator. I place my hand over my heart, feeling my heart beginning to calm down after the proximity of our lips. I haven't felt like this in a while.

I sit back down on my desk and rest my head in my hands for a few seconds.

After Jiyong, I was emotionally inept to feel anything but pain when it came to romance.

Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in, breathe out.

That's right, Y/N. You can do it! I need to calm myself down and clear my head before finishing up my proposals, don't want to mess that up.

I raise my head, reach my arms out, and crack my knuckles in the process — time to get to typing.

Periodically, I would look at the time, wondering why Jungkook was taking so long to come back. Not thinking much of it, I continued typing as fast as I could while I still on a roll.

After what seemed like an eternity, Jungkook returns with two bags full of delicious battered chicken and carbs.

I'm now 97% finished with my proposals, and I've never hustled that hard in my life.

"Look what I got!" Jungkook exclaims, skipping his way to my desk.

"In a minute!" I tell him, still typing furiously.

"Ok! I'll start setting the food up over here." He says.

I look to the direction of his voice and see him placing the bags on the temp desk. Giving him a nod, I tell him, "If you're hungry, you should eat first! I need to proofread this too." and turned back to the last few paragraphs of my paperwork.

I reread the paper at least five times before submitting it for approval from the chairman and my manager.

"Ah, finally!" I push myself away from my desk and roll out of my cubicle. I got up after the lack of rollability of the flooring and made my way over to the lovely smell of grease and beer.

"Took you long enough," He chuckles from his seat. "The food is cold again! You know I gave you an extra half an hour when I was meeting the delivery man?"

I looked at him confusingly. My head tilted to the side. "What do you mean?"

"After going down to get the food, I waited in the lobby for a little bit before going back up. I also reheated everything in the kitchen so that you wouldn't have to rush, but still had hot food to eat." He gets up and walks me over to a chair and sits me down. "I didn't think you had that much work to complete, but I'm glad you're done now."

I sheepishly smile at him. "I'm sorry, there was a lot on my mind today."

"Oh no, don't apologize. I need to talk to my father about the workload he's giving your department." Jungkook opens up the boxes and hands me a plate and utensils. "You shouldn't be staying late every day... at least not alone in such a big empty building."
