In the field surrounding Weathertop, Aragorn continued to dodge Madara's incessant barrage of attacks. He realized he was losing and couldn't hold out much longer. He used airbending to dodge Voldemort's fired spells, which was easy enough, but he couldn't keep it up for long. It was only minutes into the attack that he was placed under genjutsu by Madara's Mangekyou Sharingan. Aragorn wasn't a match for Madara Uchiha, at least, not by himself. Great, he thought, as the ground began to crumble into nothingness, trapped as he was in Madara's illusion. Now I'm done for

However, before Madara and Voldemort could move in to finish off Aragorn, Arwen swept in from the skies astride her dragon, Asfaloth. "Garjzla!" she cried, firing a ball of light at Madara.

Noticing this sudden arrival, Madara vanished in the blink of an eye and then reappeared out of the range of Arwen's attack. The ball of light she had fired at the Uchiha struck the ground, sending clumps of dirt flying.

Asfaloth landed next to Aragorn, who seemed to have frozen up, as he wasn't moving.

"He appears to be under genjutsu," her dragon noted.

Arwen nodded and turned to find where Madara had gone. She figured he would come after her and Aragorn, who was susceptible to attack while under genjutsu, but both Madara and Voldemort were more interested in Naruto and Sasuke.

Several yards away from Aragorn and Arwen, Naruto and Sasuke faced off with Madara.

"Naruto," said Sasuke. "Help the Avatar. I can handle Madara."

"I already sent a shadow clone over to Aragorn," said Naruto. "I can be in more than one place at once, y'know."

Madara grinned at the pair. "At last, a challenge."

Naruto, Sasuke, and Madara became engaged in a fierce battle at great speed, starting out with taijutsu attacks, until things quickly escalated into susano'os and nine-tailed fox avatars battling each other.

Meanwhile, Naruto's shadow clone met up with Arwen and Asfaloth. "Aragorn is under a genjutsu," Arwen explained to Naruto.

"I can help with that," said Naruto, holding up a hand with two fingers pointed upward. "Release!"

Aragorn rubbed his eyes as he was released from the genjutsu. "Thanks. I thought I was done for."

"It's a good thing you called for aid when you did," Arwen commented.

"Yes, if we had been a few minutes later, I don't think there would have been anyone left to save," Asfaloth said dryly.

"You're okay, right?" Naruto asked Aragorn.

The Avatar nodded.

"Nicely done, holding off Madara and the others by yourself. The Nazgul are a tough bunch," Naruto said.

"I'm just lucky all of them aren't here," Aragorn replied, wincing at some burns he had sustained from his battle. "Wait, where's Frodo?"

"The Headmaster of Hogwarts is looking after the demigod," Asfaloth answered, swinging her head towards Weathertop.

"We need to get out of here soon," Arwen urged. "The Nazgul will have reinforcements nearby."

"Right, I'm on it," Naruto said, releasing his shadow clone jutsu. He disappeared in a puff of smoke.

When the shadow clone vanished, the real Naruto gained its memories. "Hey, Sasuke! Time to wrap it up!"

"Right!"

The two shinobi were engaged in fierce combat with Madara. The powerful ninja had summoned a meteorite which was plummeting towards Naruto and Sasuke. Naruto was in his nine-tail fox avatar and Sasuke was within his purple susano'o. Madara smirked from within the safety of his own susano'o.

"What are you doing?" Voldemort yelled. "If that thing hits, it'll wipe us all out!"

"I don't understand how you're part of the Nazgul. If you can't protect yourself, then get out," Madara said, glaring at the offending wizard.

"I can take care of myself," Voldemort defended himself. "It's just what will happen if we lose the Ring? It'll be much harder to find if it's under a huge pile of rubble."

"Stop whining," Madara snarled. "Don't you have a spell for that?" He ignored the wizard's advice and continued to pull the meteor from the sky.

Oh yeah, Voldemort thought. I can use a summoning charm to bring the Ring to me.

Meanwhile, Naruto's fox avatar began gathering a ball of chakra. "I'll take it from here, Sasuke!"

"You sure you can handle that?" Sasuke said with a smirk. Without waiting for an answer, he teleported from the battle to the top of Weathertop. "It's time to go," he announced to Snape and the others.

"Finally," Snape said. "For a short trip, this has drawn on for a while." He finished healing Frodo and lifted him from the ground. "Come along, children. It's time we depart."

Sasuke created a swirling purple portal using his Rinnegan. Snape strode through with the other demigods following after. Asfaloth landed next to the portal, and Aragorn hopped off the dragon, while the huge meteor Madara summoned was vaporized by a beast bomb.

"Aragorn, you've done enough. Go through the portal," Arwen urged.

Aragorn opened his mouth to argue, not wanting to leave the elf alone.

"Don't worry, we've got the situation covered," Sasuke said.

"Be safe," Aragorn told Arwen before going through the portal.

Meanwhile, Ahsoka and Vader had traversed the length of Weathertop during their duel. Their bright blades flashed through the night almost quicker than the eye could follow, leaving banners of light in the dark.

All Might was keeping Luke on the ropes with his immense power. Luke managed to stay out of reach of the powerful individual by using the Mist to mask his presence from the hero. He would wait for an opening before making an attack and using the Mist to cover his hasty retreat. While not winning his fight, Luke was managing to keep All Might occupied.

Zeref, who had been watching the scene before him with a bored expression, suddenly sat up straight. "No," he whispered to himself, as he felt his magic begin to build up within him. "Get back!" he shouted suddenly. "Everyone get away!"

"You've got to be kidding me," Madara said, looking annoyed. "I work with idiots." Nonetheless, the ninja teleported away from Weathertop. Naruto used the time to teleport over to Weathertop. "We all have to get out of here fast! Come on!"

All Might looked over at Zeref, his strands of hair quivering in the wind. Breaking away from the swirling Mist around him, All Might dashed towards the portal and ran through, widely grinning the whole time.

Voldemort, looking unhappy, apparated from the area with a faint pop.

Vader glanced at Zeref before calling to Luke, "It's time to go." He gestured for Luke to follow, and they departed quickly from Weathertop. Luke was confused why everyone was leaving so suddenly, but he trotted after his father without question.

Zeref groaned as he tried to contain his power. Still, black magical energy began to swirl around him, covering him in a dark dome of magic. Ahsoka darted towards the portal and nimbly leaped through it, and Arwen urged Asfaloth forward.

"Sasuke, come on!" Naruto said as he leapt through the portal. Sasuke ran through the portal as Zeref's power exploded outward in a black wave. Any living thing instantly died when the magic touched it.

As soon as Sasuke was through, the portal winked out of existence. The blast caused by Zeref killed all life, but everyone in the area had made it safely away. Zeref sighed as he found himself alone on Weathertop, surrounded by dead trees and grass, which crumbled to dust around him. The moon shone with cold light, forming Zeref's body into a silhouette as he walked on, alone in the night.
