Chapter 34

New Jersey 3.45 p.m.
Y/n POV -

We are all sitting at the kitchen table talking about Cameron's college experience when Ethan and Emma walk in. Emma is smiling and Ethan walks in with this blank stare on his face. We lock eyes and a faint smile appears on his face as he bites his lip. He looks confused and sits down next to me.

"Are you okay?" I whisper as I put my hand on his arm. "I guess so." He says. "Grayson, y/n, can I talk to you two for a moment?" Emma says. "Sure.." Grayson says. We walk over to the porch and sit down at the outdoor furniture.

"I'm sorry for all the trouble I've caused." Emma starts. "Admitting my feelings to you." She says to Grayson. "It was not the right time and right place. Especially since you two are together now. And I shouldn't have used Ethan to get close to you." She continues. "Ethan and I are gonna work on becoming friends again, and I hope you two are also willing to become friends with me again. Or in our case y/n, become friends in the first place." Emma adds.

New Jersey 7 p.m.
Grayson POV -

Ethan is sitting on his bed and watching me get ready. I turn around to face him. "Is this good enough for the date?" I ask him. "I think so." Ethan answers. "It's not like she is seeing you for the first time." He adds while shrugging his shoulders. "I know." I say. "But this evening has to be perfect. I'm gonna ask y/n to be my girlfriend." I say. "And I wanna give her the necklace. So she always has something to remind her of me. Even if she is on the other side of the world." I continue.

Ethan grabs the box from his bedside table and opens it. The gold necklace sparkles in the light. The coin pendant on the necklace reflects the light and I see the engraved letter G. "It's really pretty." Ethan says. "Can you buy me one?" He asks with a straight face. We both start laughing hysterically.

I grab the box with the necklace and we walk down the stairs into the kitchen. Y/n and Emma aren't there yet. Y/n is probably still getting ready in my room. Mom and Cameron are cooking dinner and both look up when we walk in. "Grayson!" Mom squeals. "You look so cute!" She adds. "Great mom! Cute! That's exactly what I was going for." I say disappointed. "Are you nervous?" Cameron asks. "Not really." I answer. "No need to be nervous!" Mom says. "You two are so in love with each other. What could possibly go wrong?" She adds. I smile. "So.. uhmm.. are you gonna have sex this evening?" Ethan whispers under his breath. "What?!" I yell at him in shock. Why would anyone ask something like that?! "Well.. I mean.. are we all gonna be able to sleep?" He asks laughingly.

Shit! Does this mean I won't be able to touch y/n this entire week? After this week she is going back home and I will probably not see her for a couple of weeks. But I can't keep my mom or sister up all night while I'm making love to y/n. "Okay, now I'm nervous!" I whisper to Ethan. "There is no way I can keep my hands to myself for a WEEK!!" I add quietly. "Yeah.. that's a problem." He says as he frowns.

I hear voices on the stairs and we all look up. Y/n and Emma are walking down. Y/n is beaming and she looks absolutely stunning. She put her hair up in a ponytail and is wearing a skin tight black dress. I can feel Ethan staring at y/n and poke him with my elbow. "You look beautiful." I tell y/n as I walk up to her and kiss her on her nose.
