New Jersey 3.15 p.m.
Ethan POV -
"Emma.." Grayson says surprised. "What are you doing here?" I ask Emma. "Wow, I can tell you're very happy to see your girlfriend again." Cameron says sarcastically. "That's because she is dating the wrong brother." I say angrily. Mom walks in halfway the conversation and can't follow what is happening.
"No, no!" Y/n now says. "Definitely not dating the wrong brother! This is my brother." She says as she points at Grayson. Both Grayson and I start laughing. "Well not my actual brother.." y/n starts to explain herself. "But this is my man!" Y/n adds. Grayson's smile is brighter than Emma's and mine future together.
"I just want to apologize." Emma says. We all stay silent. "Apologize for what?" I say "Apologize for cheating on me? Apologize for falling in love with Grayson? Apologize for trying to steal Grayson from y/n? I ask. Emma's face turns red. "We'll leave you guys to it." Mom says. Cameron gets up and leaves the kitchen with mom. "I'm sorry for everything." Emma continues. "I wanna talk to you in private." I tell her. "Come, let's take a walk." I add. Emma gets up and we walk out into the backyard. As I close the door I see Grayson kissing y/n. I feel jealousy creeping up on me.
As I'm following Emma I wonder why I'm jealous. Is it because I want a relationship like that? Or because I want a girl like that? Or maybe because I want to be as happy as Grayson is?
"What do you want to talk about?" Emma says. I look at her. "What are you doing here, Emma?" I ask her. "I will make sure y/n kills you if you're here to go after Grayson." I add. "I'm not here to get with Grayson." Emma says and we stop walking. We're in the middle of the woods. "I love you both and I want us to be friends." Emma continues. "We never officially broke up and I want to apologize to Grayson and y/n." She says. "I'm here to make amends." - "Okay." I say. "So break up with me." I tell her.
She looks at me and rolls her eyes. She steps in. "I'm sorry for cheating on you. I never meant to hurt you." She says as she leans in to kiss me. Weird flex, but okay. I kiss her back but I'm not in the moment. I'm thinking about why she would kiss me if we are breaking up. Are we becoming friends with benefits? Grayson says kissing y/n feels like actual magic. Am I feeling magic right now? What would it be like to kiss y/n?
"So.." I say to Emma after the kiss. "Is this your way of breaking up with me?".
