It was only seven am when the ringing of my phone woke me up. Lilly's name appeared on the screen and I wondered what she could need.

I thought about it for a second before picking up. We almost never called, except for if we needed something for school. It was weird for her to call at this hour though.

'Hey Lilly.' I said as I picked up the phone. My voice was clearly still sleepy, but hers on the other hand was very excited. I don't think she even noticed that I had only just woken up.

'Ally, I need to talk to you! It is really important, can you meet me at school early?'

She had never before asked me to do this so I thought it was pretty serious, but the happy and excited tone of her voice made me doubt that.

'I don't know Lil, I need some more sleep and it's friday morning, can't it wait?' I ask, I really don't want to come out of bed. These last couple of nights I've made it a bit to late and I need my sleep.

If I don't get at least eight hours every night I get really cranky.

She on the other hands doesn't know that, or doesn't care, either way she kept on trying to convince me.

'Come on, please?' She begs me. 'I will treat you for lunch! I want to talk to you about this so badly, I am just so excited, please?' I smile to myself. She always gets excited about the smallest of things, and it kind of makes me wonder what it is this time.

'Okay, okay... I'll be there in thirty minutes. I'd be good to get some homework done anyways.' I say as I reluctantly get out of my cozy warm bed. She starts to answer and rambles on about some project for school we still have to finish.

I only half listen to her, since the fact that I still have no new messages from my parents bothered me. Not to sound too exaggerating, but they always call. Always.

I shake my head and forget about it, they must have had a good reason and I'll just ask them about it after school. Maybe they had a couple of drinks last night and they forgot, or maybe their phones died.

'Lilly, I know.' I say.  'Just let me get ready and I'll meet you, we can continue discussing it at school.' We say goodbye to each other and I finish getting dressed.

I put on some dark blue ripped jeans and a white blouse on top. To get my hair out of the way, I pull it up and tie it in a messy bun. As always it will probably fall out before I even reach school and I'd have to do it again, but I'm okay with that.

My bag is completely filled with books, because I always use my free period on thursday to do some extra homework. I throw out most of them, leaving just the ones I need for today. Somehow in all the mess I lost my journal and spent a couple of minutes looking for it.

That journal is everything, in it I write about the stuff I need to do, I make my lists and I do my planning. It might sound crazy, but it is my escape. With it I can do whatever I want and it helps as a stress relieve.

Once I find it I run down the stairs, I frown as I am about to enter my father's study. It's empty, which is weird and pretty unusual but I just assume they are sleeping in.

So instead of the usual pancakes I grab myself some yoghurt and pick up a piece of fruit. While I finished eating I decide to write a little note to my parents to let them know that I am meeting up with Lilly a little early.

As I grab my keys I silently exit the house and unlock my bike. Yes, I am a seventeen year old highschool student with no car. My parents thought it would be better if I didn't drive yet, as I told you, they are extremely overprotective.
