Part 10

Namit returned home dead tired after a long and hectic day at the hospital. Being a transplant surgeon was not a piece of cake. Back to back appointments and surgeries left him drained.

He wanted to call his parents and Neha but didn't had energy so he just changed into his t-shirt and track and went to sleep. Next day morning, he woke up fresh but seeing the time on his clock he rushed to the washroom and took a quick shower and left for the hospital.

Again he was busy throughout the day with his patients. It was nearly 9:00 pm when he was finally done for the day. He went to a nearby restaurant for a quick dinner and took a long hot bath for relaxation.

After the bath, he first called his parents. He had not called them since he came back to States. He chatted with his mom and dad and came to know that they were visiting a friend in Pune. He was happy for them. After talking with his parents, he called Neha. A small smile spread on his lips hearing her voice.

Neha : Hi Namit.

Namit : Hey Neha hope I have not disturbed you!

Neha : Not at all. I was waiting for your call since morning.

Namit : Sorry was busy with my work. Returned home just an hour ago. What were you doing?

Neha : Nothing much just got ready and waiting for Didi and jiju to come home. Today they have half day shifts so we all have planned to go for a movie post lunch.

Namit : That's nice. You had lunch?

Neha : Yes Didi and jiju usually have their lunch in their hospital itself. Also mama is visiting Rajat uncle's house today so I had lunch with her as she was getting late to leave.

Namit : Which movie are you going to see?

Neha : Don't know it's some Hollywood movie. You had your dinner?

Namit : Yup had dinner and then came home. Work is very hectic. So many patients are lined up after my long leave.

Neha : Well don't skip your meals in between your work Namit. By the way did you submitted your resignation?

Namit(sighing) : Yes I had a word with the director of my hospital and asked him to start finding my replacement so I can train him under me and then leave but I have still not given my official resignation. Will do it by the end of this week.

Neha : Ok. You sound tired Namit. Take rest. We can talk later.

Namit : Yes I am really tired. So can I call later? I am sure even Akash and Megha will also be on their way to pick you up.

Neha : Yes it's time for them to come. You can sleep.

Namit : Enjoy your movie and I will call back later ok?

Neha : Sure. Eat on time and rest well. Bye Namit.

Namit : Bye Neha.

After disconnecting the call, Namit felt at peace. Even though he was busy since he came back but somewhere Neha was constantly at the back of his mind. Now also he wanted to talk more with her but then she was going for a movie within some time and he also need to catch up with his sleep as he had an early morning surgery scheduled tomorrow.

Neha felt at ease and happy after talking with Namit. She also wanted to continue talking with him but he sounded tired and she wanted him to rest properly. Her thoughts were disturbed by her ringing phone. It was Megha calling.

Neha : Yes Didi when will you reach home?

Megha : We are already at the entrance waiting for you. Come down quickly.

Neha : Ok sissy coming right away.

After a movie and a little shopping spree, they came home and all straight away went to their rooms to sleep. Before sleeping, she thought to message Namit. It was always he who initiated everything. So why can't she do that sometimes.

Smiling she messaged Namit : Hey got back after a delightful movie and a short shopping spree. Enjoyed a lot. Going to sleep now. Hope you rested well. Have great day ahead.

Namit got out after performing his early morning surgery. He switched on his phone and saw a message. On seeing he was a bit surprised as it was Neha's message. He quickly opened it and was happy reading her message. He was surprised by seeing her initiative but was really happy. He replied back : Happy to hear you had fun. Got out of OT. Will call later. Bye

Neha was sleeping peacefully when her cellphone vibrated. First she thought to ignore it and continue sleeping but then her hand automatically picked her phone.

Neha(in a sleepy voice) : Hello

Namit : Were you still sleeping? Sorry I thought you would have woken up by now. I can call later. You go back to sleep.

Neha : Hey no need. I woke up now.

Namit : You sure?

Neha(rolling her eyes) : Yes husband I woke up.

Namit's heart skipped a beat hearing her addressing him as husband.

Namit : So wifey how come you were sleeping till late today. As far as I know, you always wake up early.

Now it was Neha's turn to get surprised hearing wifey word from him. She felt good hearing him address as wife.

Neha : Well I slept late last night and moreover what to do here getting up early.

Namit : Hmm so you are telling that you are forced to wake up early in our house?

Neha : No no I didn't mean that. I.... Ughh... It  I mean..

Namit laughed loud : Hey relax I was just kidding.

Neha(faking anger) : Namit!!!!

Namit : Ok ok sorry madam. Forgive me?

Neha : Hmm forgiven doc!!

Namit : Well what are plans for today?

Neha : Didi is having an off today so going for a lunch then may be will visit the beach.

Namit : You like beach?

Neha : Like? I love beach. It helps me in unwinding myself whenever I feel down.

Namit : Then I will take you there when I am back.

Neha : Definitely I will count you in that. Tell me what were you doing?

Namit : Nothing much. Was going to sleep.

Neha : Ohh then I will not hold up from your sleep.

Namit : I will call later.

Neha : Ok sleep tight. I will freshen up then.

Namit : Sure take care.

Neha : You too. Will wait for your call.
