You let out a small yawn as you smacked your lips together and let the sun shine down onto your face. You used your left arm to rub your eyes and let yourself feel fully awake. However, something was keeping your right hand in place. You glanced over and blushed a bit. Velvet was sleeping in a chair next to you. She had her head on the mattress and used your hand as a pillow. You blushed even larger at the sight, yet, you didn't want it to end.

However, what you wanted didn't seem to matter as Velvet slowly awoke and rubbed her head against your hand. You could feel her bunny ears poke against you. Honestly, they felt really nice, and you had a small temptation to pet them. Once Velvet fully opened her eyes and saw her hand over yours, she quickly retracted herself, a small blush forming on her face.

Velvet: Sorry. I didn't mean to-I-well I was kinda-never mind. Sorry.

(Y/N): It's fine. Really, it is.

Velvet: Hey, since we're both up, I'll run out and get you something to eat. Chicken and Waffles sound good?

(Y/N): Uh, ye-yeah. How did you-right. Memory. Still trying to...if they don't then-

Velvet: Bacon and eggs. That I know they'll have. See ya in a bit.

Velvet smiled and ran out of the room. You gave a small smile as well.

(Y/N): (Thinking) Guess we were really good friends. I mean, it helps that she is kinda cute. And sweet. And friendly.

You then began to grow an odd feeling deep down. Like, you never wanted Velvet to leave you. Like...you wanted to spend every moment with her. You had crushes in the past, but you knew and remember vowing to not date or have distractions. Regardless, that feeling was still there. Suddenly, you were shocked out of it when you heard your scroll ring. You reached out and grabbed it and saw Gure was calling you.

(Y/N): Hello?

Gure: Hey, buddy. How was your first night as a new person?

(Y/N): First of all, I can remember everything until Beacon. Secondly...it was...alright I guess. Bed feels kinda stiff. I don't know exactly. But I am ready to get out of here.

Gure: Same here with us. Need us to come over and get you something to eat?

(Y/N): Nah. Velvet's got me covered.

Gure: Alright pal. Well, we'll see ya-

(Y/N): Wait?! I need to know this, because I want to remember if this was true or not. Were Velvet and I good friends before all of this? Like, did we hang out and do normal friend things?

Meanwhile, on the other side, Gure was biting down on his finger, nothing but a desire to tell you was present. To exclaim that you and her were dating. Gure took a deep breath and went with the orders.

Gure: Yeah man. Outside of me, of course, she's like, your best friend. Trust me pal, everything she's doing, she has done it before for you.

(Y/N): (Over scroll) Alright. Just was wondering. Well, I'll call you later. See ya, man.

Gure: Yeah. See ya.

You both hung up and Gure looked at his scroll. He let out a controlled yell before crouching down. Both Silver and Burly looked at one another with the latter walking up and helping the wolf Faunus up.

Silver: He asked about Velvet?

Gure: Of course he did! I just need to tell him already. But I don't want to worsen his conditions and I just, I just...I want my buddy back.

Burly: Believe me, my friend, we all do.

Silver: But, it is a timing thing. So now, all we can do is hope and pray, mostly pray, that he either falls back in love with Velvet or gets his memories back fast.

Gure: Yeah...you're right. I think.

Back in your room, you were staring out the window, thinking about the conversation you had with Gure and mostly thinking about Velvet. What was with the pause? Why would he pause? Were you and Velvet not good friends? Was she using you to advance further in social status? Were you an actual cool kid among your peers? The door opened and Velvet entered, holding two trays of food balanced on her palms.

Velvet: Hey! They had Chicken and Waffles just for you.

(Y/N): (She places it down in front of you) Oh thanks.

Velvet then placed some powdered sugar exactly where you always liked it.

Velvet: Usual spot?

(Y/N): Yeah. You know a lot about me.

Velvet: Yeah...I mean...we were close after all. At least in my eyes.

(Y/N): Seems like we were. What did you get?

Velvet: Oh, some hot toast. Tofu bacon and sausages.

(Y/N): Tofu? Really? That stuff is nasty?

Velvet: Well sorry. Animal you know!

(Y/N): All because you have bunny ears does not make you an animal. (Mumbles to yourself)

Velvet: What was that?

(Y/N): Nothing. Let's eat. I'm starving.

The two of you looked back at your food and began to eat. There wasn't much of a conversation to go on. You couldn't remember anything that made you two laugh or something that you two could even talk about. You tried to search into the recesses of your mind to find a bit of conversation. However, as you reaching down, a quick memory flash hit you of a white figure kissing you and later something slashing towards you.

You yelped a bit which caused your food to fly forward a bit. Velvet was able to make sure the food stayed on the tray. She quickly looked back at you and saw you clutching your head in a great deal of pain. She placed the tray down and ran over besides you and softly placed a touch on your arm and head.

Velvet: (Y/N), are you ok?! I'll run to get a doctor so you can-

(Y/N): I'm good, I'm good. I think I just had a memory flash.

Velvet: Well...what did you see?

(Y/N): I don't...someone was attacking me? A mission, maybe? And...something else.

You looked back up to Velvet and saw with joy covering her face. You took in a deep breath and slowly moved back to the top of the bed and waved her off. Velvet sat back down and looked back at you with some concern over her face.

Velvet: Everything ok? Can I get you anything?

(Y/N): No, I'm good. You think they would let me out of here? Just to get some fresh air?

Velvet: I mean...I don't see why not. After all, you would be experiencing Beacon once again.

(Y/N): (Chuckles) Don't remind me. I could use a tour guide though.

You gave an awkward chuckle, but that along with the words brightened Velvet's face up. She grabbed some clothes your teammates left you and threw them at you. You quickly got changed but once you stepped out of your room, she grabbed your hand and began to run out and back into Beacon's courtyards.

You had no idea if this was a good or bad thing. Or what those memories were, but you knew there were yours. But that one, the kiss? Who was that person? You then looked back at Velvet and that feeling of joy returned. Then the question popped into your head. Did it matter who the figure was anymore?
