Chapter 7:The Monkey house

The next day

When Chloe finally arrived at the Zoo, She was nervous despite the fact she knew what she was doing but she was crazy enough to go along with it.

Yet again it was another example of letting her heart rule her head. Instead of being responsible and avoiding this guy at all costs. Who is probably a dangerous Psychopath because the truth is she didn't really know him, Does she?

After all the mugging appeared rather random. She gets out of the car and Smiles at her mum thanking her for the lift.

Her mother didn't know her real reasons for visiting the zoo. She had told her that she was meeting her friend Chas there.

Chloe stands by watching as her Mother leaves the parking lot and when she was sure she was gone she whipped out her phone sharpish and sends a text message,

Chas,

Listen, I need you to tell my mom that your waiting for me at the Zoo and everything is okay. I managed to convince her that I was meeting you today but she's been that busy and didn't get a chance to check with you so because she's been busy she quickly dropped me off . There is a chance that she might call you later to double check so I really really need you to cover for me.

Thanks babe I appreciate it,
Chloe.

She hit send and a few moments later she received a reply from her friend,

Chloe,

You seriously cut that fine! She just called and I read the text message you sent as I was on the phone to her. You'd better tell me what's going on later because as you and I know lying to your mother is gonna land us both in big trouble.. She is not the kind of person you wanna lie too.

We need to have a big talk and soon this is not like you at all.. Being secretive and lying.

Chloe read the message and sighs, Chas was right of course none of this was like her. But she had a feeling that this was something that just might become somewhat normal.

She quickly puts her phone back into her pocket and stands at the Zoo gates for a moment. She wonders if this guy can even be trusted but she reasoned he probably wasn't to be trusted so it's probably important to keep her wits about her.

Chloe takes a deep breath and looks around, She could see large crowds of families and their children enjoying the zoo. She was glad the exchange was taking place in such a public place but then again he mugged her in such a public place which meant perhaps he could do it again and maybe he wasn't scared of the police?

Chloe navigates the crowd and the many perilous steps around the Zoo. It was perilous because the Zoo was losing money and the faster they lost it.

The harder it was to get on top of repairs which of course meant that the Zoo may close soon. Which was why it was so crowded in the Zoo more than usual.

Chloe finally arrived at the Monkey house. The chosen meeting place for her and this so called random guy that mugged her . She had no idea what lay ahead of her. She had no idea who this guy really is.

She steps inside the building trying desperately not to show any signs of fear or nervousness. Chloe looks around and and she finally spots him.

He was leaning on a railing with a blue back pack on his back and was staring at a bunch of cute baby apes monkeying aground. The one thing that separated them was the railing and the glass that they were in.

She tapped him for his attention to show that she was here.

He smiles at her, "So you came then?"

She nodded in reply, "Yeah, So I guess we just get this thing over with?"

He shakes his head, "Don't you wanna get to know me first?"

Her eyes widen in frustration, "So you're holding my bag hostage now? Did you even bring it? And were you ever intending on giving it me back?"

He sighs at her, "Of course I was.. I'm not a bad person Chloe, I'm just a person who's made some bad choices." He takes his backpack off his shoulder and opens it showing Chloe's bag on the inside.

He quickly zips it up and puts his backpack back on his back. She frowns at his actions. "So you're really not going to give it back."

He brushes her hair out of her face. "Of course I am but I want you to take the time to get to know me so I can explain why I did this and then you can get the police to back off."

She yells at him, "Why should I even bother doing this for you?!"

He hisses at her, "Do you wanna lead the police right to me?!" He takes a deep breath to calm himself down. " I get it, really Chloe I do.. The Trauma behind what I did was inexcusable but these are my terms Chloe, If you really want your bag back..I suggest you take it or leave it. "
