Falling for his victim

Chapter 9: Is it a date or not date? Accepting the date

The next day Chloe felt she had to call him to thank him for giving her bag back but she was too nervous to even do that. So she thought it would be a good idea to text him.

She takes out her phone and shakily types a message to him,
Hi This is Chloe Meldona, I just wanted to thank you for letting me have my bag back yesterday and to show you there's no hard feelings I'm going to speak to the police today about the possibility of removing my statement.

She paces backs and forth in her room as she waits anxiously for a text back. Thoughts roam her head, "What the hell am I doing? This is the same dude that robbed me and the same dude I punched and I'm being nice to the guy. Sure it's okay to forgive someone and give someone a second chance but I think I'm actually liking him."

She pushes such a thought from her mind. Such a thought was a ridiculous notion. Or was it? No it was impossible. As if he and her could ever be together.

Suddenly her phone beeped and it was him replying to her message. Her heart skipped a beat as she read his message whilst struggling to keep her hand from shaking nervously,

Hey Chloe, It was so nice to meet you yesterday. I want to apologise once again for the hurt I have caused you. I really appreciate you talking to the police. I will do whatever it takes to turn my life around I promise but as soon as I get a job I wondered would you like to get a drink sometime?

She hyperventilates after reading his message. "Is he asking me out on a date?!"  What was she thinking? There was no way her mum or Chas would ever be okay with it.

But she knew she had to ring her best friend because otherwise she would be mad about being left out of these things. She takes a deep breath and mutters under her breath, "Here goes nothing.."

She puts her phone to her ears and sure enough her best friend quickly answered.

Hey Girl! How's it going?

Chloe replies nervously, "Well to tell you the truth, Remember that guy who stole my bag?"

Yeah. What about him?

Chloe sighs, "Well he gave me my bag back in return of me withdrawing my statement to the police also he's kinda sorta well, I think he has, Maybe asked me out on a Date."

Chas blew her top off. "You What?! Chloe, Are you outta your damn mind? This is the same guy that robbed off you? Where the hell is your moral compass?

Chloe replies annoyed, "My Moral compass is just fine thank you very much.. You know what? If you're not going to support me in this in going to do it anyway by myself."

She hung up from her best friend and collapses on her bed in frustration. She knew her mother would definitely not support her  in this but she expected more from her friend and hoped that She would support her in this. But she was wrong so it seemed to her this was something she would have to do by herself.

She walks to her computer and emails the police in charge,
Hi this is Chloe Meldona,
I would like to come in tomorrow to discuss withdrawing my statement.
Thanks,
Chloe Meldona.

She looks on her messages and reads his messages again. She mutters under her breath, "Screw it.. You only live once."

She texts him back one word that would change the course of both  her life and his life forever. "Yes, I would love to go out for a drink with you sometime."
