"Why isn't it healing," I hear a voice, that I think is Cheryl's or Betty's, says. Why can't I fully recognize voices right now?

"How would I know," someone else replies. I try to say something, but all that comes out are soft whimpers.

'Don't try and talk okay," Fangs says and I'm confused. How do I recognize his voice so well already?

"What do we do? This is really bad," Betty says. So the voice before was Cheryl's. Maybe my brain is functioning a little better.

"There has to be something that can heal this," Cheryl says and I smile a little. I can kind of tell who's who now. "If we don't heal him soon," she trails off.

"We could just put him out of his misery," a male voice says. He has that weird name I was making fun of earlier.

"Jughead," four voices yell and the boy, Jughead, laughs a little.

"I was just joking. Well mostly," he says.

The room stays silent for a while, but then everything gets hotter. A lot hotter.

I let out a whimper and hate that I sound like this right now.

"What's wrong," Fangs asks and I just want to cry with how hot I feel right now.

"Hot. It's so fucking hot," I whisper and feel a pair of cold hands touch my forehead for a few seconds.

"That's not normal. I know werewolves are normally warm, but he's burning," Jay says.

Her hands are replaced by a different pair, lightly rubbing my head. It feels a little better, but the rest of me is still on fire.

"If we don't find a cure soon, he's going to die within the next few hours and that would be bad for all of us," I say and try to open my eyes, but everything is blurry.

"What if we try to turn him. His werewolf healing combined with ours should heal him in an instant," Sweet Pea suggests.

"We can't. He's already lost too much blood. Veronica barely survived it and she was perfectly healthy. He will die if we try," Jay replies.

It's silent again for a long time, but I feel an idea forming. "What about wolfsbane," I whisper and everyone turns towards me.

"Are you crazy? That would kill you in this state," Betty says, but I see the blurry figure of Jay shake her head a little.

"He might be onto something actually. I've read about it. While it is incredibly poisonous, in a small enough dosage and with the right ingredients, it may heal him. It takes priority over any disease or wound. It might be the only thing we can get done fast enough," she says and I can tell everyone else is hesitant.

"Do you have the ingredients to do whatever you're planning," Cheryl asks and Jay nods.

"Just not the wolfsbane," Jay replies.

"I can't believe you want to save me. You do have a heart," I whisper.

"I'm trying to prevent a war actually. If you'd done that, you wouldn't be dying right now," Jay snaps and I want to reply, but can't get any more words out right now. "You might still die if I do this though. Are you sure about this," she asks and I give a weak nod. "I'll go get some wolfsbane from the Wyrm," she says and moves to leave.

"You don't need to. I always have some with me," Cheryl says and I hear her open her bag.

"Why do you carry a deadly poison with you babe," Toni asks.

"I need to be prepared if my mother comes back to town," Cheryl says and I can't help but laugh a little. At least if I'm gonna die, I got to hear that.

I hear something being stirred as Fangs lightly begins to massage my shoulders. "It's done," Jay says.

"That was fast," Betty whispers.

"Don't worry, ponytail. I know what I'm doing and if I took too much longer we might not have time. As you can see, he's bleeding again," Jay says and I feel her sit on the bed close to me. "Sit him up Fangs," Jay says and I let out a groan of pain as I'm moved.

"Sorry," Fangs whispers.

"You should be knocked out the moment you swallow it so the pain shouldn't be too terrible," Jay whispers and I laugh a little.

"Thanks for the confidence booster," I whisper, barely able to get the words out. I can feel a little blood spilling from my wound. "If I do die, thank you all so much and I love you guys. Also destroy Reggie's car and burn Hiram's house down," I say as I feel something pressed against my lips.

I let my mouth open and the moment the liquid touches my tongue, my entire mouth feels like it's on fire and the moment the cup is pulled away, I collapse onto Fangs and everything goes black.

...

Jay's POV

I set the cup down and watch as the boy falls asleep. "How do we know if it worked," the blond wolf asks.

"If he doesn't wake up in a couple days or his wound doesn't start to heal, we'll know, but I'm confident it will. If he was strong enough to talk, he should be strong enough to handle it," I say, trying to reassure the girl. It will make my life so much easier to deal with a hopeful werewolf then a depressed one.

"Alright. Us Serpents will take shifts watching him. Fangs and Sweet Pea, you have first watch. Then Toni and Peaches, then Jughead and I. You werewolves need to get far away from here. I'll find a way to get you updates on his progress, but I do not need that hot headed wolf here. It was already bad enough earlier," I say and all the wolves look disappointed but nod.

"We'll keep Reggie distracted and lead him to different locations," the red headed boy says and I give a nod.

They all leave, Toni going with her girlfriend for now. I let out a sigh and sit next to Jughead.

"You'll be okay," Fangs whispers and lightly pets the boy's hair.

"Why do you care so much about him," Jughead asks and Fangs shrugs.

"I don't know. He just seems so much nicer and anyone who wants to kill Reggie Mantle is a friend of mine," Fangs says and I can't help but smile at the last comment.

"Fair enough," I say with a small laugh.

"Plus you're just a good person," Sweet Pea says and that just makes me roll my eyes.

"I'm gonna go get a drink. If anything happens, call. I'll see you at the Wyrm later," I say and move to the ladder, Jughead not far behind me.

"We need him to wake up," I whisper and look back at them. "We're all fucked if he dies, especially since he's with us,' I say before leaving.
