Yes, that is me in the picture. Don't judge. Just focus on the dress, not the person in the dress XD.

I'm actually really anxious about uploading this chapter for some reason XD. Probably because I'm posting a picture of myself for the entire world to see but oh well.

This is a genderbent au

Virgil=Veronica
Roman=Rachel
Patton=Patty

TW: A little bit of Virgil being self deprecating. If I missed anything please tell me!

As always, don't be afraid to point out mistakes so I can fix them!

Veronica stares at herself in the mirror. She twisted back and forth looking at the dress from different angles. The dress was knee-length with spaghetti straps. It was black with a purple floral pattern (The dress at the top, just with a different color scheme)  and Veronica loved it. It was way more revealing than she was used to, but for once she didn't care.

She sighed, taking a picture before changing back to her normal skinny jeans, T-shirt, and hoodie. Putting the dress back on the hanger, she walked out of the changing room and put the dress on the rack of unwanted items. She wanted to get it so badly but she didn't have the money.

"Veronica! Why did you put that one back? I thought you loved it?" Her best friend Patty said walking out of her changing room wearing a baby blue dress.

"I really do, but I don't have enough money to get it, and my parents have more important things to worry about than paying for my homecoming dress," Veronica sighed looking wistfully at the dress.

"Oh, I would buy it for you, but I barely have enough for my own dress. But you can always borrow my dress from last year if you want to!" Patty said pulling Veronica into a hug.

"Thanks, I'll probably end up having to do that."

"No problem! I just wish I could do more!"

"It's ok. Now go try on those other dresses! I want to see how gorgeous you look in them!" Veronica said playfully pushing Patty back into her changing room.

Once the door closed, Veronica pulled out her phone and texted her girlfriend Rachel the picture of her in the dress.

Rachel: GORGEOUS!! 😍😍🔥🔥

Rachel: Is that your homecoming dress?!?!

Veronica: i wish

Rachel: Why not? 😢

Veronica:  i don't have the money

Rachel: What store are you at?

Veronica: Dillard's on Broadway

Veronica: why?

Rachel: DON'T LEAVE THE STORE!

Veronica: ok??

Rachel: Trust me, my love. ❤️

Veronica looked up from her phone to see Patty in a pastel pink dress that went just above her knees.

"Damn girl, Luna won't be able to keep her hands off you" Veronica smirked.

"Language!"

"English."

"You know that's not what I mean," Patty said with faux irritation.

"Ok, so which dress are you going to choose?" Veronica asked after Patty had finished trying on all of the dress she picked out.

"I love them all, but blue is more my color so I'll probably get that one!" Patty said. She walked back into the changing room and came out a few minutes later in her normal clothes.

"You ready to go?" She asked, placing all, but the blue dress on the return rack.

"Not yet. Rachel said not to leave for some reason, so she probably has something planned. But if she doesn't explain soon, then I'm leaving and she can't stop me."

As if summoned by Veronica's words Rachel ran up to them, panting slightly. "Where is that dress from your picture?" She asked.

"It's over there, why?" Veronica said, pointing towards the rack of clothes. Rachel jogged over, grabbed the dress, then ran back stuffing it into Veronica's arms.

"Rach, I already told you I can't afford it," Veronica said trying to hand the dress back over.

"Exactly! That's why I'm paying for it!" Rachel said and started walking towards the cash register.

"Wait! You don't have to do that! You don't need to waste your money on me." Veronica said running to catch up with Rachel who was already in line at the register.

"First of all, I know I don't have to, but I want to. Second, I am not wasting my money in the slightest. I love you so much and would do anything to make you happy, and if this dress makes you happy then I will get it for you!"

"Are you sure?"

"110% Mi Princesa Oscura,"

"Ok," Veronica said, shifting the dress into one arm and grabbing Rachel's hand with her other. The two walked to the cash register and Rachel paid for the dress, not even checking to see how much it was.

"Ooh and day of homecoming we should totally have a spa day!" Rachel said as they stood by the doors waiting for Patty to finish buying her dress. "We can get our hair done, get manicures and pedicures, get massages, the works!"

"Rachel, that will be really expensive. I won't be able to afford that, and I don't want you having to pay for me."

"But I want to pay for you! I want us to have a nice relaxing date! You know my parents love you and would be more than happy to give me a little extra in my allowance so I can treat you!"

"I guess," Veronica said shuffling her feet, "Thank you, I really don't deserve you,"

"That is where you are wrong, mi amor! It is I who doesn't deserve you!"

"I love you, ya dork,"

"I love you too, my emo angel!"
