Chapter 21: "Bad Choices"

Before we could save Vortville from Dr. Eelstrom, first we had to save it from my dad!

Because while Chip, Stella and I were sitting around our basement, wondering how to stop Dr. Eelstrom, Dad and his commando team were moving in on the evil doctor's lair.

Like Navy Seals, they sped out to the middle of Lake Vortville in an inflatable raiding craft, then plunged into the water with diving tanks on their backs and waterproof explosives in their hands.

Way down deep, they came upon Dr. Eelstrom's hideout, and they started attaching the explosives all over the place.

And how did we know this? Because the Ladybug Drone was shooting it all, and we were watching everything on my computer screen!

But someone else was watching everything too: Dr. Eelstrom! He was driving this cool mini-submarine, and he snuck up on Dad from behind. Then he operated these mechanical arms to reach out and grab him! The arms also grabbed the rest of Dad's men before they could set off the explosives.

Then Eelstrom stuffed everybody into an open port at the top of his hideout!

Dad and his men were now stuck in a high-tech jail cell, kind of like Seth Mindwarp's high-tech jail cell but with water involved. (Wacky bad guys always like to personalize their cool wacky bad guy stuff.)

This, of course, meant a number of things, all of them bad: A) Now Team C.H.I.P. had to save Vortville all by ourselves, B) We also had to save Dad and his commando guys, and C) We had to do it all without Gert von Brugen and Anastasia O'Neil discovering who C.H.I.P. really was!

Okay, there was one good thing: Dad was no longer going to accidentally blow up Vortville Dam.

But then Stella pulled up the Vortville Dam webcam again. The water was nearing the top of the dam! It was filling up so fast, it was going to start pouring over the top in no time—and all the extra water might even make the dam collapse!

We had to take down Dr. Eelstrom NOW!
