Bucky ~ Last

It was a typical Friday night for the avengers. Everyone was on the terrace enjoying the nice cool evening and just relaxing. Most of them were seated and telling stories and laughing, while others were in the pool getting refreshed.

You were sitting on a couch listening to the stories everyone was telling, or at least trying to. You tried to force your mind to listen to tony or Steve or whoever was talking but your mind always wondered to Bucky. And so did your eyes. He was sitting across from you wearing a maroon Henley that looked so good on him. He seemed to be enjoying himself, you hadn't seen him this happy in a while and that made you happy. His eyes twinkled when he laughed and you laughed with him, even though you had no idea what you were laughing at.

You quickly looked away and looked at Tony, who was telling some story about a duck and a lamp.

"... And then the lamp fell over, broke the window, and the duck flew away!" Tony Said, and everyone burst out laughing. Except Clint, he seemed to be confused

"Wait- I don't remember that happening?" Clint asked as everyone else continued to laugh

"Of course it happened! Right (y/n)?" Tony Asked, catching you off guard. You hadn't payed attention to what he was saying and had no clue what was going on

"Uh- yeah of course" you said scratching the back of your head

"I'm always the last one to know everything" Clint complained, rolling his eyes

"Oh come on Clint that's not true" you told him, but he didn't believe it

"Yeah, it is true! Like that time when Steve fell down the stairs? I was the last to know or- or when you had that huge crush on Bucky-" your eyes widened and you signaled Clint to shut up, but it was too late. Everyone had heard him, including Bucky himself. His cheeks turned red but you were sure yours were worse.

"Oh- I guess I was second to last to know about that" Clint Said with a smirk, satisfied with himself

"Well," Tony clapped his hands together, ending the awkward silence, "as much as I'm enjoying this, I have a little project I have to finish down in the lab. Bruce?" Him and Bruce left and you got up and went over to the bar to were Natasha was

"Hey" She Said with a smug smile

" Scotch on the rocks with a twist. Thanks." You said, sitting down at the bar stool.

"Woah, you don't gotta be so sour about it. Ok, I'll get you your drink but you have to promise you'll get in the pool" You had never really been the one to get in a pool just for fun. It felt like you were exposing yourself, so you preferred to just go swimming in private.

You sighed and looked at Nat, "Alright. Fine."

"And hey, maybe Bucky will get in too" Nat winked at you, and you blushed at the thought of seeing Bucky without a shirt.

"Don't you think this reveals too much?" Nat had let you borrow one of her swim suits because she said the ones you had were too boring. It was a pastel yellow two piece that probably showed a little too much off.

"Relax (y/n), you look hot!" Nat Said, but you wrapped your towel around yourself before the elevator doors opened to the terrace. A lot more people were in the pool now, including Bucky. He was talking with Steve when he saw you walk in, and you looked away blushing. God he looked so hot.

Nat dropped her towel and dived into the pool, splashing Steve and the both started splashing each other. Thor joined them and Wanda watched, but vision picked her up and threw her in the water

You giggled and sat down at one of the pool chairs, your towel still around you. Bucky stepped out of the pool and walked over to you

"You getting in?" He asked, his wet skin glistening in the sunlight

"Yeah- I just don't want any one to push me in or something" you said, and he chuckled.

"Listen um.. about what Clint-" You started, but you were cut off by Tony and Bruce appearing at the elevator followed by loud music

"You miss me?" Tony ran to the pool and jammed in, Splashing everyone.

"Come on!" Bucky said, extending his hand. You grabbed it and let your towel go as you got up. Bucky stared for a moments before turning and jumping into the pool with you. You both laughed and splashed each other, as tony started to pass drinks around.

Everyone was having a really great time, just taking a break from missions and work. You thought Bucky had forgotten about what Clint Said, but unfortunately you were wrong.

"I um.. so what Clint Said.. is that- I mean I know that... ok I don't- do you like me?" He blurted out, not meeting your eyes. You blushed furiously and looked down, trying to think of an answer that wouldn't make it even more awkward

Of course I like you!

"Because I do- like you, that is... so this would be really awkward if you didn't like me back and-" you couldn't believe what he was saying. Was he trying to prank you or something?

"Wait are you serious?" You asked

"Well yeah- you have beautiful eyes and a super contagious smile, you're probably the kindest person I've ever met and I should shut up now because you don't feel the same-" he didn't finish his sentence, because he was too busy kissing you. You pressed you lips to his, and he kissed you back. I'm the beautiful  sunset you both kissed for the first time,

But definitely not the last time.
