This story takes place during the time the Shelby boy's served in world war 1, however the story line is different. Although everything in the series happens exactly the same, unless I decide to continue the series for the rest of the time past war, I am still classing it as slightly AU.
It is also somewhat inspired by part of the book Suite Française, by Irène Némirovsky. It is a beautiful book and so I have decided to use an actress from the film version for my main character.
Edit: I forgot to mention that there will definitely be historical inaccuracies. While I tried to base the idea of the occupied areas on the truth, I warn you that it was done very loosely. I am in no way a history expert!
