Mark's head was buried in his hands, he took deep breaths, there was no way he could get her out of this. It was too late for bandages and mortal first aid rescues. The existence of the stone in his pocket suddenly came to his mind
"I have an idea" he'd heard about this in myths and legends. He didn't know if this would work but he had to try. He and Kat placed ava's wounded, almost dead body on the marble floor which was smeared with her blood. He tore her shirt open to see the exact location of the wound. everything was messed up and cut. He took out the stone from his pocket and put it in the middle of the wound, where he hoped the hole would be. Transfer of energies was a concept only words knew, not people
"I hope this works"
"Whatever, you're planning, it has to Mark, I can't lose her"
A shimmering green light emerged from the stone "Yes yes" Mark cried out in joy "It's working"
Holy Azrum. Kat was blinded by the light to see what was happening
"step back" he called out. She and Mark took a couple of steps behind. The stone seemed to be doing its magic
Ava's veins glowed with a green aura., Kat stumbled, it was difficult for her to maintain balance. All of the people in the room had an open mouth, left in awe, every eye was on Ava. Her body started shaking
"What's happening?" Kat was worried. It didn't seem like a good safe reaction "Mark.....Mark!!"
He exhaled and breathed, it was difficult for him to process or believe this "The stone is giving its power to Ava", it was a miracle
Lightening shot through her veins. Ava could feel everything and nothing at once. She felt every nerve ending shivering in anticipation and began to convulse as screams started approaching from the back of her mouth
"Don't worry it's giving the power to her", mark reassured Kat. It was exactly like the books had said
Ava's heart was pounding, she was aware of the beats growing louder and louder and louder, and all of a sudden it all stopped. The pain, the beats, her breaths, the voices in her head, the voice around her all paused for a second. She heard her sister's voice echoing somewhere far off
"She's opening her eyes. Ava Ava. Are you okay?"
She wanted to reply to console her but no words came out. her lungs seemed stuck, pathway to exhale inhale blocked. She took in some saliva and relaxed her limbs. Some air entered her body, exhale exhale inhale exhale.
"You can do it Ava" Katarina whispered, it seemed like she waking up. Kat's hands were holding her wrist. She felt the palpitations. Ava was alive and she was breathing. Kat saw her eyes moving struggling to open , she whispered her name as Ava opened her eyes.
Light from the surroundings entered her iris all at once. White fluorescence
"Oh my god" Mark kneeled beside Kat , "Her eyes are glowing and--" Kat continued the rest of the sentence just as mesmerized and shocked as Mark was
"And they're green"
