chapter 6 :)

"Laura Marie Marano!" the dressing room opened, revealing a crying mess. I was sobbing and muttering words to myself.

"What happened, Laur?" Rydel helped me up.

"The mirror, the mirror, there was blood. There's a voice and there's a girl," I cried.

My situation caught the attraction of many passers-by. They were all staring at me, some even had their phones out.

Rydel caught on to the awkwardness and she led me out of the store, leaving the dress and shoes behind.

---

"What's happening, Laur?" Ross asked, gently patting my shoulder as I cried. "I think I'm going insane," I replied, burying my head on his shoulder.

"You're not. You've been through some hard and rough times," he said gently.

"I keep seeing and hearing things, Ross, I feel like they're coming for me," I panicked.

"Breathe, Laur, breathe," Ross continued patting my shoulder gently. "I'm here," he comforted.

I touched his cheek and pecked his lips.

"I know," I said, putting my head on his shoulder.

"I'll fight off your demons for you, m'lady," Ross curteysed, putting an arm around my waist.

"Fight them off then, my dear soldier," I chuckled.

At least I stopped crying now.

---

don't you cry

don't you weep

for the truth

that you seek

is right here

right in front of you

look closely

and you'll find it

look harder

and you'll lose it

---

Those words were repeated by an unknown source in my dream. It sounded like a girl. Or maybe it's a boy. It sounded like another warning, another clue.

And I'm determined to get to the bottom of all these premonitions.

---

Maniacal laughter filled the air and rain droplets fell on my face.

"Oh Laur, oh Laur, oh sweet Laura," a voice suddenly spoke. I turned around instictively, only to be pushed down into the ground.

"What do you want?" I screamed, the rain and thunder adding effect to my words.

The voice merely chuckled. "Are you that blind? I want you," his words sent shivers down my spine.

"What do you want from me?" I raged. I looked left and right, trying to find someone or something, but there was nothing.

Another push.

"Can't you see Laur? You're right where I want you to be," a voice teased. "You stepped right into my trap."

"Who are you?" I was starting to get scared. What did that mean by trap?

Another devilish chuckle.

"Haven't you figured that out yet?"

And I screamed.
