Chapter 29 :)

I decided to confront him about it, when he was alone.

"Hey, Ratliff, care to spend a few minutes with me for a while for a talk?" I grinned, putting my arm around him and walking to the opposite direction of where he was supposed to go.

"Uhh, sure?" he answered, surprised, oh it's been a long time since we've chatted.

"So Ratliff, how are you and Rydel going? You guys haven't done anything explicit, have you?"

"Uhh," he was as red as a tomato.

"Of course you guys have, I could hear the both of you from that night," I chuckled.

The moment we reached outside and we were out of ears' reach (i hope), I dropped the cheery persona and got straight to business.

"What are the two of you planning, huh? You and Rydel?" I snarled.

"What? What are you talking about?" he asked, blankly.

"Don't play stupid, what is she planning to do? Dominate the world? Kill her entire family? Destroy everybody's lives? Tell me," I managed to keep calm as maybe if I screamed, I'd gather unwanted attention.

"I said I don't know what you're talking about," he was getting defensive.

"Earlier on, when I said I heard the two of you, I meant that I heard the two of you talking about some conspiracy or some sort, so tell me, what are the two of you planning?"

Silence.

"Tell me, or I'll," I was about to threaten him when he punched me in the gut and I howled.

"Or you'll what?" he laughed, "We've been friends for a decade or so, you won't lay a hand on me-,"

I pounced on him, punching his face and stomach while doing so.

Soon, we were on the floor, fighting each other, with punches and kicks. I pulled away from him and screamed,

"Do you see what she's doing? She's breaking our family apart! We used to be happy, we used to be whole! But now we're not! Because of some stupid evil plan! Is that what you really want? For our family to be destroyed?!"

"She won't, she'll never, she promised," his voice was shaky.

"Well, news flash, our brother is missing, probably dying, her best friend is dead and her other best friend is being possessed by something evil! So tell me, why is she doing this?!"

"If you really want to know, she's doing this to bring our family closer, as so she says, by destroying everyone else in her way,"

and with that,

he walked away, leaving me there, bewildered.
