Layla's Pov

Beep, beep, beep. I heard the familiar noises of the pack infirmary machines, again. I thought back to last night. I was at a party with my best friend, Ally and the two hottest males stumbled up to us trying to force themselves on to us. I wouldn't have it so I punched one of them in the face. We got into a fight and of course, he won and now I'm in the infirmary again.

"Hey, you're finally awake." I heard a heart-melting voice say. I move my head to see who it was but my neck protested against it and I groaned out at the stiffness of it.

"Come here. I need to see who you are and How long have I been out for?" The unknown person leaned over to put their face in front of mine. Oh, my Goddess, it can't be. "Alpha? What are you doing here?" I asked in shock. Sophie, my wolf, howled in pleasure and happiness.

-Sophie, what's going on?- I asked my wolf.

-Mate!- She screamed back.

"I couldn't just leave my mate in the infirmary all alone. You have been in a coma for two very long years."

"What? Two years? But the party was yesterday. That's the last thing I remember." I gushed out. I couldn't believe that I missed my eighteenth birthday.

-Sophie, you should have told me. - I sort of scolded her

-But I didn't know either. - Her voice rang with a truth I had no choice but to believe her words. I looked up at my mate and realised that I'm going to be Luna. He must have noticed to shocked look in my green eyes.

"My love, it will be okay. The pack doctor said you can leave once you wake up." I sat up slowly not wanting to give myself a head spin. I placed my feet on the cold vinyl flooring. I felt sparks go through my sides as Ash helped steady me.

"Maybe you need to rest some more Layla," Ash's voice lulling me into a dreamless slumber.

I felt something or someone stir next to me and my eyes fluttered open to see my hunk of a mate sleeping on the side of my uncomfortable bed. I moved my right arm and saw that all the cords and tubes had been removed from my body while I was asleep. Ash must have felt that I moved because his eyes open and gave me a lop-sided grin.

"Good morning Sleeping Beauty," his voice sounded like honey and I shivered.

"Hey, did you sleep at all last night?" My voice croaked unattractively and I blushed hard.

"A little bit, maybe a few hours."

"Oh. Do you think I can leave now?"

"We'll see how you can get up first, just let me holler for the Pack Doctor," Ash commented as he left to locate the Doctor. Once they came back the doctor did a few little tests.

"Well, everything seems to check out perfectly. It was for the best that you rested here last night so your strength would power up more. One thing is for sure though, you need to shift quite soon. Even though you shifted on your Sixteenth, it's been two years since you shifted. The connection with your wolf would have faded just a bit. To strengthen that connection again you need to shift." The Doctor blabbed on.

"Okay, I feel and here Sophie already. I wish to shift as soon as I get outside." And with that, I hopped off the bed and made my way out the door and into the warm sunshine.

-Sophie are you ready to shift? - I thought to my purring wolf. Wait why is she purring? She isn't a cat.

-Ready as I'll ever be, now just think about being on all fours and me, of course. - The last thing she said held laughter. I concentrated on being a wolf. I felt a wave of immense pain wash over my body as my bones began to break and reform. I felt like I was going to blackout from the pain that clung to me. At last, the pain vanished like it was never there. I stood up and looked over myself. I was pure white with marking of the elements. What? Elemental markings? I'm... I'm... I'm... An elemental wolf, but that's not possible. I felt someone pushing into my mind connecting me to the pack.

-Darling, you are so beautiful and powerful. I didn't realise that you contain all five elements. - It was Ash. I looked at him and thought back.

-I had no clue either. I must get some clothes. - Then I shut off the link and headed to the packhouse. The door was left ajar so I pushed my muzzle against it and carefully opened it. I crept as quietly as I could to my room. The door was f@*king closed. A hand reached out and turned the handle for me. I jumped a little and turned to look at the person who helped me. The woman looked a lot like me. The same black hair, creamy skin and piercing green eyes that held excitement and happiness. My mother. I gave her a nod of thanks and padded into my room. I heard the door shut behind me and I shifted back to my human form and put on the first thing on my hand touched. It was a light pink mid-thigh dress.

-Sophie, what wrong, - I asked the wolf that is pacing through my head.

-Mate. Must go to mate. Mate in trouble. - As Sophie said that last little sentence, I slipped on my black ballet flats and ran to find Ash. As I ran outside the smell of rouge smashes into my senses. I mind-linked everyone one word.

-ROUGES!-

I felt everyone in the pack stir at the sudden shout in their heads but moved quickly. I moved to stand beside Ash and slipped into my role as Luna.

"Shift." And just in that one word held the most authority I have ever heard come from an Alpha. The rouges shifted, filling the clearing with bone-cracking sounds and grunts from the forced shift. I didn't see anyone I know among them. My green eyes darted between the rogues and Ash.

-I wish to speak to them as Luna, - I thought to my mate. Ash nodded briefly and I stepped forward. I could hear intakes of breaths and whispering. "Why are you lot trespassing on Blood Moon territory," My voice was harsh but held all authority I injected.

"Luna, we didn't mean to cross onto your land. We were hunting and-"

"Your lying." I could feel the lie in my soul. "Warriors take them to the cells, the Alpha will deal with them later." The warriors bowed their heads and captured the rouges and dragged them off to who knows where.
