Betrayal

Ash's POV

Darkness. That's all I can see. I tried to move but my body aches in protest. Everything that happened to me came rushing back. Walking with Layla, to being knocked out by some rogue. Me, an Alpha, knocked out by a rogue. I remembered that one of them wanted Layla. LAYLA.
-Layla is fine asshole.- Timbre said with a growl.

-How do you know Dickhead?- I snapped back. Timbre didn't answer back so I dropped it and took a look at my surroundings now my eyes have adjusted. Wood everywhere? The floor, the walls, the roof and every piece of furniture other than the fridge and oven. The wood was a deep red like Red Cedar or Mahogany. Dust was flying around everywhere so someone has been moving around in here recently.

-Timbre, how long have we been out for?- Timbre poked his head up to speak.

-A day. It's night time.- Was all he said. I felt tired after a while and I finally noticed the stinging on my wrists. Silver cuffs bound me to the wall. My eyes started to droop as I fought against the waves of exhaustion. I finally gave in with Timbre on high alert so if anyone enters the cottage he had full control and let him. I felt lost and completely empty and I knew why. Layla. I missed Layla and I have never missed anyone like this before.

Layla's Pov
I couldn't sleep all night. I missed Ash a lot and I needed to find him soon. I don't know what my father would do to Ash now he knows that Ash is my mate. My eyes wandered over to the books I got from the library. I needed to know what I am capable of but I also need to find the former alpha.

Two hours later...
I knocked on the former Alpha and Luna's bedroom door. I heard heavy footsteps and the door opened.

"Alpha Sam, I need to tell you something but I also need your help." My tone was low but urgent.
"Layla. I didn't know you were awake. Is this about my son?" His eyes held sadness as did his voice. All I did was nod because a lump formed in my throat.

"Come, we must not speak here. How about Ash's office?" Heading to my mate's office was driving Sophie crazy. "Your son is my mate. We were at the pack library looking for a book on Elemental Wolves and Elemental Control." Sam's face twisted into confusion.

"Why were you looking for those books. No one has seen them in years."

"Well, I'm the Major Elemental Wolf of this lifetime and before you start with the questions I only found out two days ago after I woke up then shifted again. I control all five elements." 

"Wow, this must stay secret and only tell the people you trust."

"Yes, Alpha. Now I need your help breaking Ash out of where he is. He is in a Mahogany holiday cottage just inside the border. Just be aware that the rogue that took him is my father." I rushed the last sentence out in one breath.

"What was the last thing you said? Your father is the rogue that kidnapped my son?" My heart started to beat faster and I started to shake a little. Oh no. Sam was furious and I pressed my shaking self against the wall so I didn't stand out as much. Sam's rages could go on for a long time.

-Luna Summer, please come and help. Alpha Sam is raging again. We are in the office.- I mind linked the Luna. I could barely breathe my throat closed up in fear as he stalked closer to me.

-Please be careful. There is someone at the door for you.- I could hear her voice trembling because of the unwanted visitor. I dodged around Alpha Sam and rushed down three flights of stairs to the open front door.

"Luna, Luna, LUNA!!!" I screamed out not caring if I woke members up. They would help me look for our Luna. 

"My angel, you have a set of lungs on you. Come with me and I will set your darling Luna free." I spun around to find my father holding an unconscious Summer.

-Alpha, come down here. The front parlour. My father is here and Luna is unconscious.- A feral growl rumbled throughout the house making the others and I submit other than my rogue father of course.

The next day...
The Alpha gladly handed me over to my father last night for his mate. I was beyond angry but I knew that if I was Summer Ash would do the same thing. Though Ash would find the rogue's hideout and get his pack member back as well as his son. The look on Sam's face told me he didn't care about me. Other wolves think my family is tainted because of my father's decision to turn rogue. He was Sam's best friend and Beta like Ash and Josh. I don't think Sam ever wants to see me again because I put his mate in danger. We had been walking for hours and the sun had risen two hours ago. Our holiday cottage appeared in front of us. It looked neglected and beaten. I knew that Ash was here. His scent was faint but I could sense his presence plus Sophie could feel Timbre too.

-Sophie can you still talk to Timbre?- I whispered in my mind to Sophie.

-Yes just the link is weak for some reason but I'll tell him that we are here and to get ready to fight.- she was bouncing around the back of my head happy that we will save out mate.
