The past few weeks went by in a busy blur. I took up extra hours at the museum so I could make up from Playlist. I know that they accepted it as a vacation time, but I wanted to work up for another one, in case they all wanted to go on another trip somewhere.

Joe was in and out of my flat, sometimes staying over for a matter of days before returning to his own flat, where Caspar would scold him. Caspar didn’t look like he meant it though, according to Joe. He looked like he was secretly glad, like he was keeping a secret.

It was Sunday night, Joe and I laid on my couch watching some Doctor Who reruns. We were both in sweats and tank tops.

Joe traced his finger around my naval mindlessly. We watched as Amy and Rory jumped off the building in New York together, trying to escape the Weeping Angels.

“This is the saddest episode to me,” I told him.

“Really? I think when Ten and Rose were separated was sadder,” he kissed the top of my head.

“I mean, well, both of them wouldn’t be able to see them anymore. But Eleven lost both Rory and Amy.”

               “Ten lost someone he loved.”

“Eleven loved Amy and Rory. What are you talking about?” I shifted and turned my head to him.

“I know he did, but this was a romantic love. If that happened to us, I would be devastated.”

I grabbed his hand that was circling my stomach. I gave it a squeeze and brought it up to my lips. Placing tender kisses along each knuckle.

“Don’t worry, it won’t happen. Not ever.”

Joe leaned down and pressed a kiss onto my lips, a sense of longing running through him into me. I turned my whole body around so that we were completely facing each other. I pressed my face to his chest, inhaling his scent of cologne and fabric softener.

“I love you, Eva,” Joe told me.

I looked up at him, at his blue green eyes. From a far they were a bluish grey, but the way we were positioned, our faces inches away, I could see every detail. I could especially see the truth and the love that pulsed in them

“I love you too, Joe. I love you so much.”

Joe rested his forehead on mine and we closed our eyes, letting this moment wash over us.

Caspar called me, wanting to meet up at the pizzeria after my shift was over. I happily complied, but was weary on what the subject of this meeting would be.

After work, I walked into the pizzeria and saw Caspar sitting in the back corner. I walked over to him and sat across from him.

“Hey, Caspar,” I greeted him. He gave me a smile and said hi back.

“So, what’s up?” I leaned on the table, looking at him.

“I know I should probably go to a guy for this, because that’s what other guys usually do, but I feel like I’d get better answers from you.”

“Okay, what is it?” I asked him, my eye brows scrunching together.

“I want to…” he paused. “I want to get to know your sister better. I’m completely infatuated with her, it’s so odd. I know this might be weird, because well she’s your younger sister, but just-“ I cut him off.

“Caspar, it’s okay. I know already, and I know Lilly is like that too.”

            “Really?”

I laughed at him. “She did kiss you didn’t she?”

Caspar’s cheek turned red and he looked away, rubbing the back of his neck. “Yeah, she did.”

“Well, there you have it. I’ll help you with small things, but I want you to get to know her on your own. I’ll give you her Skype, okay?” I grabbed a pen from my bag and a tissue from the stand next to me and started to scribble my sister’s username on it. I handed it to him, and he took it, reading over it several times.

“Thanks, Eva. But can you tell me something now? I’m kind of impatient,” Caspar laughed lowly.

“Well, Lilly is a very self-reserved person, preferring to observe and collect details. She will notice all the small things. She knows when she’s being lied to, like me. So heads up on that,” I pointed a finger at him. He nodded before I continued.

“Though she likes familiarity, she loves change. She loves finding new things to inspire her, but right now, she’s still inspired I guess back in D.C.  She lives off her artworks, Caspar, and if she isn’t inspired, she can’t make a living off what she loves to do.

“So you understand why she couldn’t come here, not even if she wanted to, right?” He nodded.

“I do. I just hope someday soon, I can see her again.”

I reached over the table and took his hand in my, giving it a gentle squeeze. “You will, I promise.”

Caspar gave me a smile before telling me he had to go. We got up and walked out of the pizzeria. He offered me a ride, but the sun was out, which was pretty rare and told him it was okay.

He nodded and got in his car, driving off. I started walking home, looking at the sky which has grey wispy clouds, which told me this nice weather would be interrupted by stormy weather sometime this week.

Sighing, I walked home quickly, wanting to get some rest before I did paperwork.
