"It was a pleasure to burn." -Ray Bradbury

Dear Diary,
Today it's my 16th birthday, I guess I could say that even if I'm not an adult yet, I'm no longer a child either. In my opinion, it's time to grow up and start to make grown up decisions for myself. Although I am motivated to do so, it's only 7a.m. so I'll start with something smaller.
You will no longer be called Diary. We have been together for the longest time and have discovered the wonders of the world together... Well, discovered as much as someone with only 16 years of life in their pocket; or in your case pages, can.
In this revolutionary day, I call you Jornal. A more mature name for a more mature life experience, and adventures.
Dear Jornal,
I will never again pester you with my unimportant stories, tales of a spoiled girl.
Today I vow to change and start to become, day by day, the person I was born to be.
For the past weeks I have been putting a lot of thought on how to change and have realized that who we are isn't something we can change by snapping our fingers, but something that age we will turn us into the person we were meant to be.
Life has a habit of controlling us and from now on I want to take control of my life and not the other way around.
- Diana M. Blackthorn
