I wake up to the sound of my alarm blaring.
It's so early! I don't want to get up! But unfortunately it's Monday, which means...what? You guessed it! School.
Oh, the joy! (Note the sarcasm)
So here I am getting ready as fast as I can, seeing that, as usual, I'm late.
I take the quickest shower that I have probably ever taken and get dressed in a pink floral dress and a blue denim jacket. With my bag in one hand and a apple in the other I run for the door.
I was so close to leave unnoticed! So close! But because life hates me I get intercepted by my older brother and his annoying son of a goat of best friend. Don't get me wrong his nice in the eye and everything, but when he opens his mouth you have the sudden urge to hit your head against a wall over and over and over again.
And then you'll want to punch him until his nose is flatter than Lord Voldemorts."Hey sis, running late again?" my brother mocks me.
"Yup, how about you? Feeling desperate enough to hang out with Ethan so early in the morning?"
Ethan, my brothers best friend looks at me like I am a piece of gum stuck in his shoe, but never the less he puts his cocky smirk on and says "You wish I liked you and let you hang out with us!"
God! He's so annoying! He should be eating lots of broccoli and carrots like the 5 year old he is not wasting my precious time.
"Whatever you say freakzilla." I try to sound bored and wait for his reaction.
I'm not disappointed! He hates that I always have a different insult to throw at him, each one funnier than the other.
His face goes red from anger and frustration. I swear! It seems that it only gets more hilarious with time! When he's angry his left eye twitches and he has the habit of bitting his fist. It's just... priceless.
"Oh, please! You'll never be able to be as charming and as graceful as me! We are all friends here. You can tell me that your deep dark secret is to one day be just like me! I mean... You don't have to tell me! I already know it!"
"Be like what? A freakzilla? No thanks! And FYI you're as charming and graceful as a slug."
(Not that slugs aren't a particular interesting specie... They're nice! In their sluggish way. I'm not discriminating or anything. Don't hate on me slug lovers. Have mercy!)
With that I turn to my brother "I'm going to be so late to school today, James. Let mother know that I'm going to Anne's after school and that I'll be home after dinner. And keep your friend in a tighter leash! Don't want to catch his disease, whatever it is!
"Sure, little sister. Now run along. Don't wanna let your forever loyal friends waiting, do you?" He raises an eyebrow at me.
Oh, no he didn't! I raise one eyebrow right back at him. And put a hand in my waist.
"Don't you eyebrow me! I taught you that! Without me you could barely raise both of them, much less only one!" He just stares at me blankly until I give up.
"Urgh! What.Ever! I'm out of here! See you later, James."
With that I'm out the door. I'm just about to get in the car when I hear Ethan shout "And Diana! A friendly advice... Chew a gum. You're breath stinks!"
Before I slam the car door shut I scream back "Your face stinks!"
Inside the car I can hear my brother laughing. Well... Ethan should know better than to throw insults at me that I can easily throw back.
Our relationship is like playing table tennis. Always throwing the ball from one side to the other, we just use ridiculous insults instead of a ball.
I'm not 16 yet. My birthday is in a week and until then Nora, one of my best friends, is picking me up and taking me to school. Not that she minds. This way she can rub it in that I can't drive yet.
Sitting in the backseat I can hear Nora going on and on about some new bag that she just bought. Thankfully, Anne changes the subject.
"Diana! You won't believe the guy I met yesterday! Remember when I told you that I was going to try out the gym? Well, I did! And guess what?! There was this super cute guy and...."
I might have stopped listening as she described the guy to the smallest detail. I'm not tying to be mean or anything but she is just a bit over the edge boy crazy. "So? What do you think? Should I call him?" Anne finishes
"Sure. Why not? Maybe he'll make you not stress out about your grades so much."
"You just remember me that we have a test next week! And I still have so much to do!" She sinks down in her seat, I can almost fell her exasperation from where I'm seated.
"Just relax Anne, we still have a whole week! And you should totally call him. You don't find a hot peace of meat everyday!" Nora winks at her and turns her eyes back on the road.
"Maybe I will." Anne turns around in her seat to look at me "How is Ryan? Did you tell him we are hanging out at my place after school?"
Ryan is my boyfriend. We've been dating for a bit over 4 months. He's quite the catch, with is green eyes and light brown hair he has the attention of a lot of girls. Unfortunately for them, he's mine.
"Yeah, he'll be there. I think he was going to bring Matt with him..." I twitch my eyebrows at her.
"Oh please! I'm so over him! Besides, he's dating that slut Courtney. I can't believe I ever liked him!" She waves her hands in the air like than would help her make her opinion clear.
Nora lets out a mean laught at that "That slut is all up in other people business. I think she just can't bear not to be the center of attention, for like, 5min! Cross that, 5 seconds! She's just so annoyingly fake with her bleached blond hair and brown eyebrows, that are way to thin btw. I think she doesn't understand that she's not welcome in our group. The only reason she's still with us is because the guys think she's hot and she's easy! But we are the ones that have to take her crap! "oh dear! I just chipped a nail!", "don't touch my things, they were expensive! My daddy bought them in New York for me!" No one cares! Why? Why does she have to hang out with us?!"
And as Nora finishes her little rant about how much she hates Courtney we arrive at school.
Luckily with a few minutes to spare.
We get out of the car and start to make our way to the main school doors.
